Hacienda Happy Days Restaurant — Restaurant in Surat Thani Province

We went to this place for lunch while it was all empty except for one customer. The young lady welcomed us and recommended the best place to sit. During the time we spent at the restaurant, a tall pleasant staff member was taking our food order; however, the food was the main problem we saw when they served it. We had a Pad Thai and fried chicken, and both main dishes were horrible!!!! I have had many Pad Thais in my life in Thailand and abroad but never this bad!! The texture was extremely watery, and the noodles were overcooked, so it was more like a soup than a Pad Thai that was also missing the taste. When it comes to the fried chicken, the chicken was very dry and with only a few pieces on the plate, so big disappointment! We could not finish the food and decided to pay and leave, while another staff member came to ask about the food; we were honest, sharing with him that we were not thrilled by it; as a result, instead of showing empathy and apologising, his comment was: “some people like it, some do not”, which came through as very arrogant comment. After the payment, he even did not ask us where we came from, he just thanked us in Russian, saying “spasibo,” which left us speechless as we are not East Slavs, and that is rude and ignorant from his side, saying thank you to all non-Asian customers “spasibo” even as a joke, especially during these unprecedented times...

We were very surprised at the disappointing quality of food as this seamed like a great place from the street, which it was with a nice atmosphere. We ordered guac and chips- it was brown mush that had not real taste. Shrimp Ceveche- this i was excited about, but it was awful, with 2 broken prawns/ not fresh or local caught like other places use, no lime, fresh flavour, i didn't eat it. My husband ordered Pork Fajitas- it was two small, flat, unrollable, tasteless thing on a plate, no salad, salsa, sauces, just lots of cooked oily onion, raw white cabbage with some cubes of meat ontop. He didn't really eat it, not a fajitas at all, the owner agreed and made excuses, you shouldn't serve it if you know its not right? I order chef salad Mexican salad with chicken- firstly there was no green at all to make this a salad, this was a plate of raw white and red onion, white cabbage, canned corn and black beans, with tastless chicken on top. We were basically so disappointed, this was like bad backpackers food, which we payed 1000 thb for! We spoke with the owner whom made excuses for, well what he would let me talk about, who was aware of what i was telling him was right, but shrugged it off, blamed his kitchen staff, with a response of " when you come back next time heres 20% off::?? We...

We came here for a dinner while staying in koh phangan. We ordered some nachos, burgers, and drinks. The staff is very friendly and attentive. The nachos was OK. A white cheese sauce, maybe parmesan?, jalapeños, and chicken. The cheese sauce is gritty though. Accompanied with a salsa. The salsa was surprisingly decent. They did char the veggetables prior to blending to hmgive a char flavor to the salsa. Missing a serrano pepper for my taste though. The burger was not great. The meat was way way over cooked. Very dry and hard and unseasoned. Yes its a burger... but one of the worst I have had. Fries were also over cooked for my taste. Crunchy like toast/chips. The passionfrut thai teas on the other hand were delicious. We had more than a few of the teas! If your craving some non thai food... roll the dice here. You might find something you like......
