Y’all didn’t eat Thai food on Phangan until you came here. It’s funny to try to describe the food here as “good”- meticulously, lovingly, attentively prepared with clear signs saying they DO NOT make fast food. Fried Papaya salad (complimentary with seafood), is a game changer, as so are other dishes, and the taste level in general. For a medium price range restaurant, it gives you an insane value-for-money experience and it is one of those places where it’s very worthwhile to visit more than once- lovely owners as well. Do notice the amounts of time I used “love” in the review ❤️🔥!
Make sure you ask specifically about the dish you’re getting so there’s no confusion 💞 600 baht was 3 dishes and a very satisfying Italian soda (which cost more than some dishes, a dessert replacement) not that that’s needed- desserts are (as practiced “religiously” in this road side institution) Large, delicious, and giving the dine out feel, hosting experience...
Read more“Made fresh upon order” is a big lie, we’ve been to many cooking classes and Thai food never takes so much time to make. I ordered Pad sew and asked for pad Thai noodles with it, I received very thin-non pad Thai noddles which were all stuck together and was just a big mess... did I forget to mention that I waited more than an hour for it?? This restaurant is for people who want to wait a long time and eat average food. This restaurant is a great example for good marketing with making you feel like waiting a long time = better food. This is obviously not the case since amazing Thai food is cooked within no more than 20 minutes (and this is curry we’re talking about), pad Thai should take no more than 10 minutes to make. If you decide to come here I would highly recommend you to bring playing...
Read moreI have just eaten the Massaman curry here and, oh wow, it was absolutely delicious. The the sauce was comfortingly rich, the spices were delicate, and there was plenty of chicken. The dish was also beautifully presented, it looked and tasted like it was made with great love and care.
Then, I had the mango sticky rice, and it was as delicious as the picture. Wow.
The owners are also very friendly, and provide parking along the side of the restaurant.
The only downside is that the restaurant is right on the road, but in my opinion, it’s still totally worth it.
I paid 225 Baht for the Massaman curry and the sticky rice together, which was very reasonable given the quality.
If I could award this restaurant a Michelin star, I would! I will be back again… maybe...
