nok's kitchen — Restaurant in Surat Thani Province

I really, really wanted to give this place 5 stars because the food is soooo good!! The veggie/vegan options are great. And the food is all cooked fresh. I had a seat where I could see right into the kitchen and it was spotlessly clean and organised. I saw every dish we ordered cooked from scratch.

Clean flavours, fresh, vibrant and really tasty. What does let it down is the miserable nature of the lady that does everything. She spends the whole time cooking, but also looking out for people that try and park in front of her restaurant that are not dining there. And then she runs over and shouts at people.

I've never seen anything like it before. I really wanted to warm to her because as a cook she's clearly very, very good at what she does. But she is also rude, moody and almost annoyed that you're there.

If you don't mind crappy customer service, but you love good Thai food then this is definitely the place for you.

Weirdly, we will be back because of the food. And now I know that the attitude is not because of me, I can go and just order the food and enjoy it...

Amazing food, Nok cooks everything you order fresh from scratch, so you have to take your time. Especially when everybody orders something different. But it’s totally worth the wait, the best fried spring rolls we ever had. The green curry was awesome also. Don’t judge a book by its cover fits perfect here, the restaurant doesn’t look like much but the taste and fresh quality will surprise you. Be aware, they only speak Thai, so you have to write your order down and she makes the meals from top to bottom. We decided the starters last and got them at the end. Which makes sense when you think about it because she just works down the order list. But again, a recommendation for everyone who likes fresh cooked...

Never seen such rudeness in Thailand before! The guy is crazy! Never go to this place!

Situation: restaurant empty, parking empty, I stopped my bike at the side, the guy asked if I wanted fuel, I said: no thx but can I park here for two minutes while I buy an ice-cream on the other side. He didn’t say anything, went back. Few minutes later my bike wasn’t not there. I asked him where my bike was because I didn’t see, he was very angry. As I realized what’s going on I asked what if I wanna drink and eat here? He got upset and wanted to attack me. I left to find my bike but he was still showing aggression following me on the street. I read some reviews here and I am not the only one enjoying his welcoming...
