Restaurant Sunshine — Restaurant in Surat Thani Province

We have been regular customers of Sunshine Restaurant for two months. Each and every time the food is delicious, so much so, that we get extra to take away to eat the next day as we live in Chaloklum. We usually order curries, morning glory or soup. The tofu is sauteed to perfection, not like most places that over-fry tofu so it tastes like rubber. What we like about Sunshine is the quality of the ingredients coupled with the cleanliness, often this is hard to find as too many places use heaps of oil/msg/sugar - not here. Corners are not cut at Sunshine, usually ingredients of this quality have a higher price. Portions are generous too. For example Sunshine's Tom Kha has a wealth of vegetables in it, like we have not seen anywhere else, and the coconut milk used is of very good quality and not watered down, a quite common practice elsewhere. I’ve been on Koh Tao for over a week and so far have not been inspired enough to post a review. Yes. There are many gorgeous vegan eateries in Sri Thanu area and they get great reviews but this one is deserves to be mentioned and applauded. It’s an authentic little roadside diner with an extensive menu.

I asked the lovely owner would she make me a vegan pad thai. She really knew her vegans! No egg, she said and tofu and vegetables. It was a large meal and so very tasty. Extremely tasty and fresh. Lots of broccoli and cauliflower too. I was so hungry, I forgot to take a photo before I devoured my meal!!

The best Thai place to eat I’ve ever visited here on the island, no joke! It has everything you want from a perfect restaurant: Delicious food, very good quality, big portions for small prices The lady running this place is amazing: very warm, kind, helpful, with very good English. You can see that she really cares about every single guest and treat each one of them individually.
