A Hidden Gem for Authentic Thai Cuisine
I’ve had my fair share of Thai food in my travels, but nothing quite compares to the experience I had at Thai Kitchen in Thailand. What stood out to me during my visit was the warm and inviting cook, who happened to be the heart and soul of the kitchen. After watching her work her magic behind the counter, I struck up a chat with her. What I found was an amazing woman who’s not only passionate about cooking but also incredibly creative. She told me she likes to put her own twist on traditional Thai dishes, blending bold flavours with a bit of innovation, all while maintaining the essence of classic Thai cuisine. It’s clear that she pours her heart into every dish, and it shines through in the flavours.
One of the best parts was how affordable everything was. The prices were ridiculously cheap for food of this quality. I was expecting a hefty bill for such incredible flavours, but it was the opposite. The serving sizes were generous too! I left feeling completely satisfied without breaking the bank.
But it wasn’t just the food that made this experience unforgettable—it was the service. The staff were incredibly friendly, attentive, and always ready with a smile. It felt like I was being welcomed into someone’s home rather than a restaurant, and that warmth made the experience even more special.
If you're in Koh Samui, Thai Kitchen is an absolute must-visit. You get authentic, high-quality Thai food with a creative twist, amazing service, and prices that are just too good to be true. This was by far one of the best dining experiences I’ve ever had, and I can’t wait to go...
Read moreThai Kitchen has quickly become my favorite restaurant. I come here 2-3 months almost every year for 35+ years. My wife is Thai and a great chef and we agree this is our new fave restaurant. Kuhn Tat is owner, chef, waitress, dishwasher, food shopper and chopper, etc and works so hard and she always has a welcome greeting and smile. She pays attention to each customer like they are her only customer. When the place is busy, you have to be patient as she can only prepare an order or two at a time, but she is quick, very focused, loves the challenge, and her food is arroy mak mak (very delicious)! I’ve had about 5 dishes on her menu and there’s at least 5-10 more I’m looking forward to trying. She serves a nice brown rice she calls riceberry rice. IMO, the most moist and best brown rice I’ve had. I found the place by accident after leaving Dr office as he told me to eat chicken soup so I stopped at first restaurant and lucky for me I found Kuhn Tat and Thai Kitchen. It’s a small quaint Thai style restaurant with many nice touches added by Kuhn Tat. I commented how excellent her English is and she said she has many years experience working in a hotel. Current hours are 11 AM to 9 PM Sat through Wed,...

Every time I visit Koh Samui, I make it a point to eat here — it has become my go-to place without fail. The food is incredibly authentic, bursting with vibrant flavors that capture the essence of traditional Thai cuisine. Whether it’s the rich and creamy green curry, the spicy and tangy papaya salad, or the perfectly grilled seafood, every dish is made with fresh, high-quality ingredients and cooked to perfection.
The portions are generous, making it great value for money, and the presentation is always appealing. What really stands out is the warmth and friendliness of the staff — they go out of their way to make you feel welcome and ensure your dining experience is top-notch. The atmosphere is cozy yet casual, making it the perfect spot for both solo meals and group dinners.
I especially love the consistency here — no matter how many times I come back, the quality never wavers. Thai Kitchen truly offers an authentic taste of Thailand in a relaxed setting.
