Kob Thai restaurant — Restaurant in Ko Samui

We were in Lamai Beach and wanted to get good Thai food. We read the reviews and felt we give it a try. Upon arriving you will notice the setting is in an unkept backyard/garden, uncut grass , swimming pool is a bit dirty , some dilapidated chairs and tables and more...The food is mediocre. We ordered Massaman curry and coconut gravy was diluted though tasty. We were expecting a thick sauce. The Tom Kha Gai was good and chicken was tender. The papaya salad was okay..bit bland. Also bear in mind your outside and will be attacked by mosquitoes while having dinner. The owner Stephan (French) was friendly and the service was fast. My husband and I are in our early 70’s and from Australia. We loved our dining experience at this restaurant last night. We were met by the charming French owner, who’s wife is the chef, and shown to a table under a thatched roof.....our own cabana. It was raining when we arrived, but luckily we were kept dry while in our little cabana. The service was unbelievable. I have never had such quick service anywhere in the world. Walked 30 minutes from the Outrigger to this charming restaurant. We both ordered the green curry chicken. I asked for my curry to be very spicey as not been getting enough spice in most other restaurant dishes.

The curry for my wife was very tasty and mild enough. My curry was excellent and very spicey which I loved.

Great meal, fast service and very friendly staff. After we had finished our meal the chef came out to ask how my curry was (maybe worried it was to spicey :) ). It was the best curry I had eaten 9 days into our holiday and kept me smiling for the rest of the evening. Tuesday...
