Yukinoya at Anantara Rasananda — Restaurant in Surat Thani Province

The restaurant is in anantara, so you'd expect some sort of minimum quality level. This was however completely thrown out of the window. The "Thai" ceviche was tasteless, the very little of fish that was on the plate was torched too, and was probably the worst ceviche we've had. We ordered beef tataki, however what came were super thin seared strips of beef. The waiter was passive aggressive and tried to say that it was tataki, only countered by a quick search on Google images. The sushi that came had an obscene ratio of rice to fish. The tuna had a sweet sauce on it, that the waiter described as "seaweed sauce"- which I'm still skeptical about. With the sauce the tuna tasted awful, and when removed the reason for it being there was discovered: the tuna wasn't fresh enough. All the sushi were bland, even after removing about half the rice. All of this would be fine if not for the cost.

Do not recommend at all and avoid...

Sushi is my absolute favourite type of food so I was quite excited to try out this place based on previous reviews. I am not sure if we came during a bad night but we left incredibly disappointed. The quality of sushi was the type I would expect from the food court. The cuts were small and amateur and for the price range I cannot fathom how it received such positive feedback. We have tried sushi in several countries and in a few places in Thailand and this was by far the most expensive and least satisfying. The menu selection is also small and orders took forever to get out which would have been okay had it been top notch quality. It was quite confusing that with such limited selection the quality and service was so poor. For price reference we just left valentinos which is a few minutes away where we got 2 rib eye steaks 2 appetizers and paid less than for 3 rolls (15 pieces) and 12 nigiri at this place. Highly...
