Issaya Siamese Club in Bangkok delivered a culinary experience that was nothing short of extraordinary. From the moment we sat down, the staff impressed with their warmth, professionalism, and a genuine passion for their craft. Each dish felt like a journey into the heart of Thai cuisine, blending traditional flavors with modern presentation. The KANOM-KROK was an unforgettable starter. The coconut crème brulee paired with minced chicken was a symphony of sweet and savory, with the galangal and kaffir lime leaves adding a delicate aromatic touch. The chili jam gave it a subtle kick, perfectly balanced and absolutely delicious. The SEANGWA PHOO, a blue swimmer crab salad with mango and a chili-coconut dressing, was refreshingly light and vibrant. Every bite of crab was tender and paired harmoniously with the sweetness of the mango, bringing out the tropical essence of the dish. Next came the KRADOOK MOO OB SAUCE, spice-rubbed pork baby back ribs. These ribs were sublime—falling off the bone and glazed with Issaya’s signature chili paste, they were a perfect blend of smoky, sweet, and spicy. The flavors lingered on the palate in the most delightful way. Then, the KAEW WARN “LIKE A SOUP” GOONG stole the show with a tableside preparation that heightened the experience. The homemade green curry paste soup with prawn was fragrant, comforting, and rich, while the kaffir lime leaves and basil brought an earthy, fresh depth. The heart of palm added a crunchy texture, making every spoonful a surprise of flavors and textures. The MOO HANGLAY featured pork tenderloin simmered to perfection in a northern-style curry with ginger, pineapple, and garlic. The balance of spice and sweetness in this dish made it comforting yet complex, each bite offering layers of flavor. For the main spectacle, the GAI OB was prepared tableside—an all-natural Khao Yai chicken, spice-rubbed and charcoal grilled. The flambeed finish added drama, but the true magic was in the taste. Juicy, smoky, and perfectly seasoned, this dish exemplified the mastery of the kitchen. The KAO SOY OSSO BUCO was a brilliant fusion of tender osso buco slow-cooked in a Chiang Mai curry sauce. The rich, aromatic curry enveloped the succulent meat, while the egg noodles and chili oil elevated the texture and heat. Even the simple PAD KANA—wok-fried Chinese broccoli—stood out. The fresh crunch of the broccoli, seasoned with bird’s eye chili and garlic, was a delicious side that complemented the richness of the other dishes. Dessert was equally spectacular. The PIGGY BANK VACHERIN was both adorable and delicious, with its playful presentation as a little sweetie piggy. The exotic sorbet and Chantilly cream offered a refreshing, light finale. The MAEKHONG BABA was another standout—a decadent baba soaked in Thai rum syrup that was both rich and aromatic. Paired with the lightness of coconut whipped cream, fresh fruits, and pandan sauce, this dessert was a perfect blend of tropical sweetness and indulgence. The rum-soaked baba melted in the mouth, and the pandan sauce added an extra layer of fragrance and flavor, making it a memorable end to the meal. Finally, the ITIM WARNYEN, a homemade ice cream and sorbet tasting flight, was a delightful assortment of tropical flavors—each scoop bursting with fruitiness and creamy goodness. Overall, Issaya Siamese Club provided an exceptional dining experience, with artfully prepared dishes, flawless service, and an atmosphere that blended elegance with warmth. Every meal was a flavorful masterpiece, and the staff made sure we felt welcome throughout the evening.

We'd spent time in various places in Thailand, trying local cuisine, and decided to treat ourselves to a restaurant with stellar reviews. We were not disappointed. The more we learned about Issaya Siamese Club, and its founding Chef, Ian Kittichai's success on the international scene, the luckier we felt that we could get a reservation on such short notice. We ordered the smaller of the two tasting menus (THB 1,900/person) and it was plenty of food! Almost immediately we were served a gorgeous amuse bouche of smoked oysters, followed by delicious spicy rubbed baby back ribs, a hearts of palm salad with banana blossoms, followed by a the chef's salmon-variation on Pad Thai, a dramatic and tasty flambeed chicken, Massaman curry-style lamb shank, and then prawns, followed by a grain-dish, flavored with garlic and mushrooms. All the dishes were beautifully plated, satisfying all the senses. If these dishes weren't filling enough, all were followed by a jasmine creme brulee with jasmine ice cream. And if THAT wasn't enough, Chef generously treated us to the "broken basket" dessert, which was amazing--I only wish I had been warned so I could video the presentation, which was dramatic! During the meal, we were greeted warmly by the manager Nikom and Executive Chef Deed (please forgive the spelling!), who shared their excitement at the venture and the food. I cannot recommend this place more highly. If I have any comments that aren't 100% positive, I would suggest they do more with bringing the dining area into the garden, which is sort of off to the side and underutilized.

Stumbled upon this place by accident, great decision giving it a try! It leans towards the fine dining side of the spectrum but you can have a great meal for below 1000-2000 baht if done right. They have a tasting menu with 2 menu options that I will come back to experience for sure. They have a wonderful wine selection as well as cocktails. The service is very friendly and welcoming. Appesling outer and inner dining areas. The menu is quite large with many options In the appetizers, main course, vegetable section, and many many desserts. I had the tuna tartare which was very fresh and light. The main was the charcoal grilled flambeau chicken, only criticism is that the dish was quite heavy on the alchohol flavor content as the pouring at the table seems to not allow for enough evaporation of the alchohol as traditional methods leaving a stronger taste. That being said the effect was very cool and the dish was very good past the bitter bites and perhaps that's the chefs intention which I respect. The Chinese brocolli was a nice side simple and flavorful. To finish things off the Thai Mochi & ladybug dessert was very nice. You can tell the pastry team is very tented in both traditional thai flavors as well as modern and fusion concepts showcasing presentation and great twist on the local fruits and flavors. All in all a great experience I would reccomend if you would like to try thai food with a nice spin from an obviously experienced chef in more then just the local technique.

DO NOT GO GREEDY OWNER/GREEDY RESTAURANT

Well where do I begin?? This restaurant is greedy! Greedy for covers & ultimately greedy for money. Rather than ooze good customer service with sincere staff, giving a fantastic service and an unforgettable holiday experience they lower themselves to mere greed.

I should have learned. The same happened on 12 April 2023 when I was denied a pre-booked romantic terrace table by a walk-in party of 8!

This time, i had once again booked a romantic table for 2 on the terrace area and once again on arrival i was informed that the terrace area was now full with a party of 30. This is after i had received a confirmation Email the day before confirming my table, time and number of guests.

At the restaurant I was informed by the head chef that the party had booked earlier than I had; a fact that was incorrect when i duly produced the original E-mail clearly showing our booking a month prior to the large party.

Prior to the head chef arriving on the scene, i did not receive a sympathetic response from the front of house. She just stood there giggling declaring there was nothing she could do.

I did enquire why they were overstaying their 2-hour dining window but was told a party has 3-hours whilst normal diners just 2.

Believe me, if the restaurant had informed me the day before that terrace dining was not available I would have cancelled. I was offered indoor dining or dining in the garden. Indoor is soulless and the garden is mosquito hell with little in the way of cooling. Yet again, rather than providing an unforgettable romantic holiday experience, Issaya’s greed to maximise their profits became most important to them. All that resulted was a wasted 1-hour round trip.

The head chef did try and appease us with a bottle of champagne, however, by this time the experience was sour. So what is the difference between a fantastic restaurant and this greedy one?? After our complete disappointment, we were dropped off at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel. We recounted the story of the evening’s events, at which point the Maitre’d made sure we were well looked after with a romantic river side view table on the verandah and extremely fine food and wine. The staff here were extremely sympathetic, attentive and kind; Issaya needs to take a “leaf from the Manderin Oriental’s book” and stop...

Issaya Siamese Club is a true standout in Bangkok’s vibrant dining scene, offering an unforgettable Thai culinary experience that blends tradition with creativity. From the moment you step into this charming restaurant, you're transported into an elegant, yet relaxed atmosphere, housed in a beautifully restored colonial-style house with lush gardens and cozy nooks that make for a perfect setting for both intimate dinners and larger gatherings.

The menu at Issaya Siamese Club is a delightful fusion of classic Thai flavors and contemporary twists. Every dish is meticulously crafted, showcasing the depth and complexity of Thai cuisine while adding a modern touch. The Southern Thai Crab Curry is an absolute must-try—rich and aromatic, with perfectly tender crab meat swimming in a flavorful curry sauce that balances spice, sweetness, and umami. The Grilled Pork Jowl is another highlight—smoky, tender, and packed with mouthwatering flavors, perfectly complemented by a zesty dipping sauce.

What really sets Issaya apart, though, is its commitment to using fresh, high-quality ingredients. Each dish bursts with vibrant flavors, and you can taste the care and attention that goes into every plate. The cocktails are also fantastic—creative, refreshing, and a great accompaniment to the food.

The service is impeccable—staff are friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive without being overbearing. They offer insightful recommendations and truly enhance the overall experience. Whether you're a longtime fan of Thai food or new to the cuisine, the team at Issaya Siamese Club ensures that every guest feels right at home.
