Honest Review – Poor Service and Unresolved Issues

Good points: Very friendly and kind cleaners. Good location. The tour desk lady (who isn’t a hotel staff) is very fluent in English, generous and hospitable.

Minus points: This was unfortunately one of the most disappointing hotel service experiences we’ve had. Despite having prepaid the full amount for our room via Booking.com, we were still required to pay an additional 1,000 THB deposit at check-in. No one explained the refund timeline — we later found out it would take up to 4 weeks, which was never mentioned in advance.

At checkout, we were handed a billing slip with the wrong card number. When we questioned it, no staff member could provide an explanation or check their records. Instead, they repeatedly asked if we had used a different card — which we had not. We are now concerned that the incorrect information may cause further delays or prevent us from getting the deposit back altogether.

Additionally, we were charged 40 THB for an external call, and rather than deducting it from the deposit already held, the staff asked us to pay it separately. When we requested clarity, we were met with unhelpful and dismissive responses, particularly from a receptionist named Aom, who handled our checkout with a lack of professionalism and engagement. No apology was given, and no effort was made to resolve the situation efficiently, even after we expressed that we were in a rush for our flight. She even laughed it off as this is a funny matter, which is extremely rude and unprofessional.

After further insistence, Aom agreed to send us an email explaining the situation by the following Monday. It has now been 4 days, and we have received no follow-up or response from the hotel.

Separately, an ATM machine retained our Mastercard during the stay. When we asked the front desk for assistance, Aom simply told us to call the bank ourselves and walked away. As foreign guests without a local SIM, we asked if we could place the call through reception — this was declined as well. The hotel staff offered no assistance or follow-up, and we were only able to resolve the matter thanks to a helpful tour desk staff member across from reception.

Overall, our experience raised serious concerns regarding staff training, communication, and basic guest support.

We hope management reviews this feedback carefully and improves the handling of similar situations...

The location is in the Sathorn area which is close to Silom. The location of the hotel is congested, difficult to find, and less strategic. But the hotel area itself is quite comfortable because there are lots of food stalls, massage stalls and there are several levels in front of the hotel, very easy to shop. Luckily the hotel provides a shuttle to Lumphini MRT and Saladaeng BTS, the problem is getting home because they don't provide pick-up to the MRT and BTS while Bangkok is in the rainy season, the road is also quite far. The check-in process required a passport and a deposit of one thousand bath which will be returned at checkout. Also given a card for free WiFi access

Superior room with a comfortable size for the Ibis class. The mattress was comfortable with the right level of softness (not hard) and there were only 2 pillows + 1 pillow near the table. In my opinion, the maintenance and cleanliness of this hotel is very good because the room walls look like they are painted clean, there are no black or yellow spots. Two bottles of mineral water are provided which are refilled every day, coffee, tea, paper and pens. There is a water heating kettle too. The TV service is also clear and good even though the TV is small. Wifi is also very fast around 80 mbps. The standard ibis bathroom is very narrow. The shower is very narrow but the soap and shampoo smell good. Amazingly, 2 body towels and 2 hand towels are provided. The bathroom was also very clean, no yellow stains at all. Very above my expectations. The only minus is that they don't provide toothbrushes as in-room amenities so I have to buy them.

There are no facilities other than the lobby, restaurant, bar and business center which are all on the same floor as the lobby. There is a shuttle to BTS and MRT including hotel facilities.

Because my room was room only, I only tried breakfast on day 3 by paying 120 thousand rupiah per pax. With Accor plus, I can enjoy a 50% discount on food so I can get 2 pax. The food served is quite tasty, the croissants are also delicious The menu: Cereal, waffles, bread pudding, juice, milk, pao, bread, croissants Coffee, tea, pasta, potato, eggs, pork ham, pork sausage, chicken sausage, chicken curry, porridge Fruit, yoghurt, salad, cold cut, buad fuk thong (pumpkin with...

I am also a visitor who always check reviews of hotels and make booking. That is why I am writing this to let everyone knows.|1. ----The room has a very strong irony weird old smell whenever you come inside. And you can literally hear everyone talking clearly as the room is not sound proof.|2.The weird thing about Thailand Hotels ----When I make booking, I have never seen about paying daily deposit fees (500batt) in your stays. Only after making booking, they will let you know that we need to pay extra fees. Why they cannot let us know before booking? And Some hotels accept in your country currency. But at IBIS,I had to give in batt. They said if you want to give with visa card , the deposit money only can receive back after a month or so. So I paid with batt. |3.---The receptionists are really not very welcome. They are not helpful. And no one welcome me when I start enter hotel and I asked them to help me carry my luggage but they responded " currently we busy" you carry yourself. And I said- you look - I have two big heavy bags. I need help. And one lady say- okay I carry. But I said " its okay , just take me to the elevator, I do myself. Thats my experience. And when I ask about deposits fees, I feel like their voice is not kind, and kinda felt like shouting me.|4.----Breakfast sometime have to wait for fillings . Because they only serve little food . If you wake up around 8,9 and go and eat, you definitely have to wait for the meat come.|5.Shower is the worst! Very narrow shower room. Even if you don't open warm , it will rotate 3s hot water,3s cold water. If u arrange heat level, you will still get 3s very hot, 3s cold . I don't even wanna shower there . I stayed there for 14 days . As soon as I arrived there, I even wanna cancel my booking. The service is bad, the room is not beautiful. |This hotel is only good for normal stay. If you expect a little bit luxury with this price, you definitely shouldn't choose.||Overall, It was my first time in Thailand. some ladies from breakfast place is kind . Thanks for this. I will remember...
