Went for a drink last night. They have a decent range of single malts and not expensive. The staff and owners were unfailingly polite, respectful and efficient. The lady owner is switched on and runs a tight ship! For these reasons I will be back for breakfast when they open. They have an aircon room inside and pavement seating for those who like it hot. I will report on my breakfast shortly. Just had breakfast - scrambled eggs on toast which were done perfectly. Good coffee too. My only issues are the use of electronic picture only menus which I really don't like. Navigation of e-menus is cumbersome and I like words with my menu! I appreciate my preference is probably not the norm but anyway. On that note it would have been nice if there were options to add items to a dish. For example I would have liked bacon on my eggs. Yes I could have asked but it would be more customer-centric if I didn't have to. I suspect this lack of flexibility is related to emenu functionality- another reason for paper or blackboards? Anyway, regardless lovely food...
Read moreBar in good location, first impression is that the young staff are attentive, friendly and quick to serve you, the people that frequent the bar apart from the odd one are quite a closed bunch that greet you by looking the other way and trying there best not to engage in conversation with you. The 4 of us spent many long afternoons drinking in the bar spending many thousands of baht in the process. I was shocked that one time I asked the owner about a particular football game and he said yes we’re showing it so I returned to the bar in the afternoon bearing in mind the game kicked off at 9pm watching and listening to the previous game, when the game came on I wanted to watch the volume went off, Joe the husband of the owner and the few locals were not interested in this game so on went the music, really, how rude!! The owner a Thai lady I found to be a really rude at times a very nasty woman, it’s a pity as the bar really could be something special with a bit of imagination and a lady owner that could do with a lesson...
Read moreIt was one lovely Wednesday (so-called 'Hump Day') morning, that I popped for hot cafe latte (to break up any potential mid-week blues), here at the 305 Bar & Restaurant. It is contemporary looking establishment with predominantly modern decor. And one that is conveniently located in Central Udon City, it is just a short walk to the train station and it sits adjacent to Nutty Park and the Preecha Market. Upon arrival outside the restaurant, I was greeted with a warm smile, followed by an open door into a surprisingly spacious cafe, presenting a wide range of seating options. There was cool air-conditioning, relaxing music and an economical range of food and beverages to choose from. As it was mid-morning, I decided to just enjoy my classy cafe latte and glad I did, as it was simply superb. This place is definitely worth checking out (see my vlog on YouTube) and I know that I will...
