I am very happy to discover this cafe, which has been open now for about 6 months. Hours begin at 7:00 a.m. and finish at 3:00 p.m. in the afternoon.
The central location is one street over from Central Plaza toward the night market and UD Town.
It's a lovely old home in the heart of the city which has been turned into a charming restaurant. Plenty of parking in front, and the shop is set back off the street about 50 m or so. Located right next to the popular Panerai Hotel.
Prices are quite reasonable. I had a hot Cafe Americano for 50 baht, which was perfect. I had the scrambled eggs set breakfast, which was 169 baht and quite tasty.
The eggs were nicely seasoned, and I especially liked the sausage and the toast. They have a special way of toasting the bread, which most shops don't do.
I'll return soon to try the Vietnamese banh mi-style sandwiches. I noticed plenty of Thai and Vietnamese dishes on the menu as well as Western food.
There are plenty of photo-op niches in the cafe, and there is a large upstairs seating if you're looking for more privacy.
Friendly staff, English spoken, and all-in-all a very nice experience for breakfast. Highly recommended.
UPDATE
I've returned to this shop several times and found a very tasty scrambled eggs with cheese and ham dish served on rice for only 79 baht. And the coffee is quite good.
I'll sample the famous Vietnamese noodle dish--Pho--on my next visit.
Pare, the lovely owner, is considering adding more Western dishes to the menu, so this is a very strong, centrally-located breakfast option in Udon Thani. Breakfast served till the 3PM...
Read moreEvery year we come to Udon Thani for a month's stay. Since discovering The Morning House a few years ago it's become our go to pace for breakfast, brunch or lunch. I've tried several dishes on their menu and never been disappointed. Great flavours, great value and a good size serving. Without a doubt the best Espesso yen in Udon, and I've been to a lot of Cafes in and around Udon. I've tried all the noodle dishes, broth that's full of flavour, perfectly cooked noodle, meat that's tender. The Vietnamese buns also are full of flavour, warm and soft roll, perfect amount of butter and sausage that sweet and tasty, one is never enough. Great location set back off the street where you have easy parking if your driving, a short walk from several hotels in same street The 8, Ban Bua and Pannari. You can have a quiet breakfast outside in the morning, or inside in the cool AC for brunch or lunch. Last but also importantly is the Staff and Owner. Thank you, its aways welcoming, to visit somewhere that staff are genuinely smiling and friendly. Was nice to see a business owner happily working alongside staff and not yak yak them like I see elsewhere.
If your in Udon Thani or staying in a nearby hotel, give a local family owned business a try,
Look forward to coming back...
