I came in to Udon Thani for a much needed English breakfast. The Irish Clock had some half decent reviews but what I experienced wasn’t that good. I ordered 2 English breakfasts. A small one for my wife and a larger breakfast (number 3) with black pudding and an extra cup of tea. It arrived with no bubble and squeak for both breakfasts. The larger breakfast for me also didn’t have any black pudding. I went up to the waitress and explained that the order wasn’t complete as item where missing. Yes was the reply all gone. But never tried to explain that to us or reduce the price. Ok so she took the bill back and put my breakfast as a smaller breakfast (Number 2) instead of the large size breakfast. I also tried to tell her that since both the breakfast were incomplete with no bubble and squeak there should be a reduction in the full cost. A complete brain dead look followed. My food was now getting cold so I gave up and sat down to eat. A few minutes later the waitress appeared and started to spray the windows with bleach. So now we had the smell of window cleaner whilst eating our breakfast. I wouldn’t have mind but the windows came out worse than when she started which was slightly funny. Then it clicked. I was getting a Basil Faulty experience for free. The guy on the ladder repairing the air con behind me was no other than Mr O’Reilly. The incompetent waitress was a Thai Manuel. As another annoyance I am sure the bacon was sliced pork and not proper bacon but as it had been griddled I am not 100% sure on that. 5/10 for the Faulty...
Read moreStayed here for 3 nights in June 2024, as have stayed here before. The room was large and looked OK. But, the TV didn't work, I enquired and was told the satellite dish was faulty, they didn't know when it would be repaired, not a deal breaker, but you need something to do whilst preparing to go out. The toilet roll holder in the bathroom kept falling off the wall whenever you pulled the paper, the safe didn't work electronically, I asked the cleaner (as I was instructed to by other staff) and she said that a key could be used, I mean would you?? Knowing there must be more keys out there?? The breakfast waitress who took the orders, found it difficult to either smile, or to be enthusiastic. I tried engaging her in conversation, but she just couldn't be bothered, just looked very bored all the time, unless she was on her phone of course. You'd think more effort could be made. The cleaner used 'Our' water to replenish, rather than the hotels, and didn't replace the tea bags used. An electrician decided to start drilling at 6.30am..... There never seemed to be any customers in the restaurant / bar..... I wonder why. The only positive, was the charming lady with the glasses who I first met when I arrived. She was a real positive, very smiley, and helpful. A true positive amongst negatives, didn't get her name. The breakfast was OK the first time, but seemed old, tough and possibly reheated the second time. All in all, I...

Shame because we had eaten there seven times in the last two weeks! With no problems!
To be fair my food was not bad but it was cold, and obviously microwaved, but my wife's a simple spicy pork(A Thai dish) came out swimming in cooking oil when we complained, all they did was drain it off but it was still inedible they said it was fat from the pork. After 25 years In the trade, we know the difference between cheap cooking oil and pork fat.
So I went to the office to complain to the so-called management quietly because other people were eating in this so-called restaurant. he asked me to leave because he did not like my attitude he obviously does not like genuine carm criticism he shouted at his wife and threatened to knock me out( so much for customer service) in front of other customers which I did want to complain in front...
