No. Just, no.

I visited the establishment with a few friends at its One Woodbrook Place location. We were seated within minutes, which was the only positive thing I can say about the experience.

The chef must be the owner, a very close relative of the owner or a friend to who they owe a favour. Because in no way should what we received have been allowed to leave the kitchen.

My friends and I ordered the chicken lollipops as an appetiser. We got burned flavourless drumsticks that must have been squeezed dry because there was not an ounce of moisture within their flesh.

After having to go hunting for the server, who decided to take a lunch break, we ordered our main dishes. Two of my friends chose a pasta dish with shrimp. According to them, the shrimp was fresh, the pasta was overcooked, and the dish lacked seasoning; ordering that and water would have been the same. My order, the ribs, was equally as disappointing. I could only manage a few bites before setting my fork down, which hurt my soul because I was hungry.

It is also evident that the owner focused more on hiring servers based on their looks rather than experience and performance. I could say more on this, but...

On 24 June 2022 I visited this well renowned and famous establishment in search of a meal and a chilled draft beer to wash down said meal.

Upon being seated I waited and waited for the eventual arrival of my waitress who then informed me that an establishment with the name beer in it has no draft beers available at the time.

After deciding on a bottled beverage to consume due to their lack of available menu items I was sadly informed they are out of stock of pickles, an item that is listed under at least three of their menu items. My surprise did not end there, the alfredo pasta was not up to par, the pasta to my surprise was penne and although I took the somewhat veggie option, there were no typical vegetables such as mushrooms or broccoli to be found in my pasta.

All in all, my second experience here at Island Beer Chill and Grill was unsatisfactory and I am unsure whether I will visit this establishment...

So, last night I order 3 burgers (on the menu the price was $75 and 3 beers ($18).

The bill was $382, and I left $18 tip since I always do.

Then I reached home and something was off. The total should have been $279.

Well, it turned out the service charge is 15% and THEN THEY PUT THE VAT ON CUSTOMERS!

This is so unethical, and should be presented on the MENU, TRANSPARENTLY.

Considering the food itself is excellent, this unethical behavior will lead to us never returning there again (and the plan was once weekly). I also hope this comment will be seen by enough people to cost them much more than $100 they STOLE FROM ME.

I own 3 businesses (2 in Trinidad) and I would NEVER, EVER do this plain unethical, deceitful, and WRONG thing.

Considering you have 3 restaurants, I guess I won't be having a meal in either of them.
