Fong's Hott Wok offers an unforgettable culinary experience. From the moment I enter, I'm greeted with the warm smile and friendly demeanor of whoever is at the front counter. I've eaten from this establishment several times and the staff is consistently pleasant. Sometimes I have to wait a bit longer than I'd like but they are genuinely apologetic in those moments. The food is indescribably delicious but I'll try my best. The food from Fong's is the best Chinese food I've had a VERY long time. Their egg fried rice has this perfectly smokey flavour. Their chicken fried rice is equally delicious. Their butter fried chicken is never more batter than chicken and it's not greasy which I appreciate. I love the flavours and textures of their char siu pork, Chinese style chicken, pepper shrimp and chunky vegetables. My absolute favorite menu item is the Fong's Hott Wok Shrimp. I'm not a lover of pepper but these succulent shrimp are busting with flavour and they have the right amount of heat to them. I, personally, don't add condiments when I buy food from Fong's because the food is so good it doesn't need anything. I'm currently not in Trinidad but one thing I'm definitely looking forward to whenever I visit is getting a few meals from...
Read moreAfter a lot of anticipation I finally visited Fong's Hott Wok on the 25th of June 2024 and I am sure I will never visit again. This is by far the worst chinese food I have ever eaten. The quantity of the food is sufficient but the quality leaves everything to be desired. Even the fried rice was abysmal. The rice was very hard. The wontons over fried. A score of 0. Simple as Singapore noodles was served in a soup bowl. Like how ? The drinks, same story not even Coke was on sale, Fanta and water only. The only good thing about this place was the service from the owner, she is very people oriented and friendly. Dining inn was not available on my visit here but it had tables and chairs to sit and eat if you desired. I will surely...
Read moreWhenever I order Chinese food I expect it to feel as though it was prepared fresh and hot/warm. The food was cold and tasted like any regular chinese food, the chow mein was probably the best item. It definitely wasn't worth the drive from north to south. Service was poor, my sister has a seafood allergy so we asked to change the order since we did not know beforehand that they put oyster sauce on everything, they just changed the chicken but left it in the same box that had oyster sauce to the top. Would definitely not recommend to someone. The food probably tasted good at some point but definitely NOT on...
