Amazing food, the best I had in Tunisia. I highly recommend the traditional Tunisian menu, but the other dishes are also delicious. The price ranges from 15 to 38 dinar per course, with most being around 20, which is cheaper than in some dingy joints we got food poisoning a few days prior. 100 dinar for a family of 4, drinks included. The course includes a starter and mint tea afterwards. The interior is elegant, but not stuffy, inspired by traditional ornamentation while retaining a modern look, the toilets are nice and clean. Après de nombreuses critiques négatives, je suis enfin heureux d'en faire une positive pour ce restaurant au nom typiquement arabe "SULTAN". Il est situé au centre de Karouan. J'ai rencontré les propriétaires par hasard il y a quelques mois à Sousse et aujourd'hui, de retour de Kasserine, j'ai décidé de venir manger dans leur restaurant. Dès que je suis entré dans l'endroit, j'ai immédiatement eu un sentiment positif. Une grande salle à manger propre, bien éclairée et bien entretenue avec un mobilier traditionnel. Nous avons été chaleureusement accueillis par le propriétaire. Les serveurs sont courtois et habillés proprement et rasés. Nous avons mangé une cuisine tunisienne traditionnelle mais très agréable. Enfin une lueur de lumière. Je vous conseille.

Ho conosciuto casualmente i proprietari qualche mese fa a Sousse ed oggi, di ritorno da Kasserine, ho deciso di venire a mangiare nel loro ristorante. Appena entrato nel locale ho avuto subito una sensazione positiva. Una sala da pranzo ampia, pulita, bene illuminata e curata con arredamento tradizionale. Siamo stati accolti con simpatia dal proprietario. I camerieri sono cortesi e con abbigliamento pulito e rasati. Abbiamo mangiato piatti della cucina tunisina tradizionali ma molto gradevoli. Finalmente uno spiraglio di luce. Lo consiglio.

after many negative reviews I am finally happy to make a positive one for this restaurant with the typically Arabic name "SULTAN". It is located in the center of Karouan. I met the owners by chance a few months ago in Sousse and today, returning from Kasserine, I decided to come and eat in their restaurant. The food is extremely fresh and the portions are huge. The prices are really good considering the luxurious menu. The staff are friendly and very attentive, but not to the extent where you get annoyed. You can clearly see their kitchen and how they make everything from scratch.
