From the moment we stepped into CafĂ© Journal, it felt as if we were stepping into a warm embraceâa gentle piece away from home, wrapped in the scent of good coffee and kindness.
The staff welcomed us with smiles that felt like sunshine, and as we settled in, we discovered that the owner is Algerian, from Batnaâthe land of the trailblazers of Algeriaâs independence, where the revolution for freedom found its brave voices. It felt like destiny, especially when we saw the stunning artwork on the walls by a local Algerian artist from SĂ©tif, each piece alive with the stories of our history, our colors, our resilience.
There is something beautiful about finding a piece of Algeria within Tunisiaâa reminder that though borders may separate, the warmth, hospitality, and shared love for art and community connect us deeply. Both countries, with their rich histories and generous people, meet in this cozy cafĂ©, reminding us how intertwined our stories truly are.
It was truly an honor to visit this space. Every corner held warmth, every sip of coffee tasted like care, every plate was prepared with love. The location is phenomenal, tucked perfectly in Marsa, yet inside it feels like a hidden world where art, community, and taste meet.
To the wonderful staff, to the beautiful spirit of this place, and to the heart behind CafĂ© Journalâthank you for reminding us that wherever we are, home can be found in a cup of coffee shared under the quiet glow of art and warmth.
We will carry this visit in our hearts, and we cannot...
Read moreIf there was 0 stars thats how much i would give, because 1 star is way too much. Lets start with the staff, very rude. Waitress literally walked off mid through order to talk to his boss. They took the ash tray and never had the energy to give it back. Way over priced, we ordered a 14 dt meal which consists of a burger, chips, coke and a cookie. Burger was burned to black charcoal. The garlic sauce is weirdly lumpy with no garlic taste. The burger itself was very small for its price, just like the cookie, which didnt even taste nice. Coke is the only thing i enjoyed from it. Apart from that i ordered ice tea, what i received, speachless. Watered down tea with ice, no taste, drinking water would be more enjoyable than this. Conclusion, the place itself is nice, but thats about it. Highly...
Read moreWhen we moved we used to come here often because the food was delicious and cheap and had a convenient location. But the lasts times we went we feel is not the same anymore. The meals are delicious but never come at the same time to the table, if you're on schedule it's a problem. We wait long time for just a sandwich although there's just between 3 to 5 clients at total. They often mistake the bill and add things we haven't consumed. Because of that we haven't been able to go back. In the meanwhile I don't know if any of these aspects changed. I hope so because it has a nice...
