Le Rocher de Gammarth — Restaurant in Tunis

No recommendation! My partner and I went there to enjoy a nice evening and some good food — unfortunately, that was not possible. Upon arrival, we were arrogantly looked up and down by the waiters standing around in small groups. We were only greeted and seated after we insisted. When ordering, we were told that neither the wine we had chosen nor the pasta were available. The “selection” they then offered us consisted of 4 out of the original 12 wines, and the same went for the pasta options.

The restaurant was almost empty — only three other tables were occupied — yet the five(!) waiters still couldn’t manage to take our order in a timely manner because their private conversation seemed much more interesting. The same attitude was apparent right from the start when we arrived.

The food was okay. After paying, we still left the usual amount of tip despite the poor service. However, the waiter came up to us afterward and complained in rapid French about the tip — which absolutely shocked us.

All in all, the service was a disaster, and the waiters were rude and ungrateful. A real shame, because the location could offer so much more with...

First of all, we were assigned a bad spot and when we asked for a better table our request was turned down. Our table was exposed to too much sun then we ended up with a headache. That messed up the entire thing. When I went to the register to pay for my bill I brought the table issue and nobody seemed to care.There was no customer service Follow up. Appatetly, they had their own customers who they cared about which is the wrong way to think as a business, this is not how you grow as a business and keep a good reputation. When people are given the attention they deserve they will come back. It’s not just about eating it’s about being pampered as well. The waiters were slow and it’s not their mistake. They did the best they could. They seemed to be understaffed and the customers were too many. You can’t offer a descent service no matter how great your food and view is. The view seemed to be good but we didn’t get to enjoy despite the fortune we paid. The food was good but...

The worst service I’ve ever had in my life.

Came for a late lunch, the wait was too long to get a table for 2 persons, 30 minutes to get the menu, 50 minutes to be served.

The steak was super cold, the pasta was horrible.

The waiters were unfriendly, unhappy and lazy.

One of the waiters was super lazy to walk hhhhh he knocked on the glass from behind to talk and take the order from his client. 😮

Another rude and unprofessional waiter was calling his colleague more than 4 times and bothering him while the other one was talking to his client.

To sum it up these waiters don't smile, are very unfriendly and they have ruined the experience for us and I would never go there again or recommend to anyone else.

I think the manager should reconsider his criteria when hiring the waiters.

The price we paid was too expensive for the cheap service we have received.
