Just had dinner at Trilye. As much as the place is beautiful and the reviews seem just right this place is quite a LET DOWN. From their extremely slow service, very few vegetarian options and the ones on the menu not available, even their fish selection has a strategy...the only available fish are the ones which are highly priced. Our order included fish and chips and grilled vegetables which took the longest time to arrive. We specially asked for mashed potatoes thrice and what we ended up getting were 4 pieces of grilled potatoes. Being very hungry we honestly didn't have the energy to remind or follow up. What came as a surprise to me is that they don't even ask you about the kind of water you would like or would you even like water but keep pouring...also served us bread and olives and later we realized we were charged for it all!!! First time in Ankara and our first restaurant which was a part of the BEST restaurant list online can easily be missed. Think twice. Also the smoke inside the restaurant literally got us...esp our clothes. Even though we asked for a non...
Read moreI have heard of it but went 1st time when we were in Turkey last March. The food was good, lots of choices, decent customer service, owner around, checking on customers, great and comfi environment, real cute food presentations. I even suggested the owner to have the little boats made for sale, like a souvenir. I would have bought one if it was available. I will definitely go back. And in Aug of 2020 I went back. Unfortunately, this time i wasnt impressed at all, it became barely a 3 star or maybe 2. We had a dumb waiter, foods were sooo wanna be, they really tried too hard to make them different but didnt work for me. The portions are ridicilously small n unnecessarily expensive. If you want the best sea food, excellent service n great restaurant just walk up the street from Trilye n go in to SUR BALIK RESTAURANT, you will see the difference and you will never go...
Read morePleasant experience overall but didn’t live up to my high expectations taste-wise. Service was professional and efficient. Sour dough bread, olive oil and olives were a good start. The two starters I sampled were ok nothing mind blowing. The amuse bouche (keşkek) needed serious improvement. The internal temperature was way too high around 24-25 degrees celcius. And initially a cigar was being smoked indoors when we were first seated! My grilled turbot was delicious the sides were mediocre. Mixed salad could be better - some green ingredients were not very fresh and the lemon - olive oil sauce was not enough. The fruit plate was rich. Tea not freshly brewed. Wine by the glass selection needs serious improvement, a restaurant of this calibre should not be serving wine by the glass of a single...
