So many bad things I don’t even know how to start. First the lady speaks a very basic english so if you can expect communication problems. We asked the diference among the different types of manti in the menu but she didn’t know how to explain. There is 1,5 and 1 portion sizes, we asked 1 portion of a manti and 1,5 portion of another one and we received both at the same size. Even though the menu has many options, there was only manti and soup available. Someone next to us ordered soup and I could see the soup was in the fridge/freezer and being heated in the microwave. When my manti arrived it was half warm and half cold. And honestly the whole atmosphere of the place is not nice. Not cozy at all, super packed with too many stuff and decoration. Do yourself a favor and go to one of the nice cafés nearby but don’t waste...
Read moreWell, it's the first time trying Mantı and it was really nice!!!! We tried the original one and the fried one. And I must say that I liked both of them but mostly the original ones. I tried the mantı with garlic, and It was really tasty and hot. The thing we didn't like was the behavior of the staff. They were a bit harsh with their moves, and one of the young ladies was not kind at all. We were very kind to them, we ordered stuff but we received strict and not gentle responses. Also, at the end, we paid much more than what we expected because they told us in the beginning that we could have half portion crispy and half portion original, and at the end, we paid double price for a plate which was extremely expensive (like 600 liras which us 16 euros for a very small portion of food). I'm sorry, but I...
Read moreWe were out exploring the neighbourhood and stopped in to Bay Manti & Cafe on a whim. It was such a great decision. It’s such a lovely little place with just a couple of tables inside and a couple more on the pavement outside.
We had the Anatolian Manti with garlic & yoghurt sauce and the potato salad with special mustard dressing. I think the Manti was one of the best things we ate in Istanbul, it was absolutely delicious. There are 6 or 7 Manti from different regions available and our only regret is that we didn’t try more. Maybe that’s something for next time.
We didn’t have dessert but we finished our meal with a Kurdish coffee called menengiç. If you haven’t heard of it then it’s worth a try. It’s prepared the same way as Turkish coffee but is caffeine free and...
