Etçi Mehmet Bakırköy (SteakHouse) — Restaurant in Bakırköy

We called at 2pm to make a reservation with Mahir. İ don't speak much Turkish, but he was efficient in taking the reservation. We arrived half an hour earlier to find an otopark but luckily there was valet parking at the restaurant. We were welcomed with a warm smile and seated on a cosy table by Görkem (if i don't have the right spellings for the names, my apologies). We was feeling peckish and placed our order of Lamb fillet steak, New York steak and Lamb Chops with a goat salad. A few minutes later Gorkem was preparing the oven roasted aubergine dish served on a board, the salad was served with bread and the drinks arrived. The salad, aubergines and the bread was the perfect starter/appetizer. Our food arrived and the service was impeccable. As always, i was about to slice my son's steak but Görkem did it for him and fed him the steak. My son was feeling like very special young man and absolutely loved his steak. İ was tucking into my New York steak and it was soft, succulent and delicous. My wife thoroughly enjoyed the lamb chops. After the main course we met Mustafa, and what a lovely guy. He spoke about the Manchester branch which we also frequently visit when we are in the UK. To top it up, recommended a traditional low sugar Turkish desert. We first came to Etçi Mehmet in 2022 and were so impressed by the food and service that we made it a must-stop again in 2025 — and once again, it exceeded all expectations.

From the moment we walked in, the staff made us feel like VIPs. Diyor and Adem (Adam) were especially amazing — welcoming, attentive, and full of great energy. Their kindness and professionalism made the whole evening feel personal and memorable.

Not only is the food incredible, but they also put on a little show with the meat — which makes it that much more special. They’ll often bring the lamb chops or ribeye out to your table and cook it right in front of you, sizzling in butter and served with flair. Of course, they ask before doing so, but it’s one of the highlights of the entire experience and something you won’t forget.

Seeked out this Steakhouse based on the reviews for the restaurant in Istanbul. On further searching they have restaurants in the UK 🇬🇧. The reviews were good but you do need to go and eat there. I don’t speak a word of Turkish but they got me in, found me a fella who spoke English and we were on the way to ordering. Started with Smokey Beef( sliced thinly) and Cheddar, never had it before but it worked and the texture combined with cheddar was spot on. Ordered tge New Yorker Steak 🥩 and Fries 🍟 with there Special Salad 🥗 bit like a Mediterranean Salad 🥗. Done Medium and sliced up in front of me , offered a taster to start then left to eat . Heavenly is all can say. I wish I could remember the fella who served me name… very ignorant of me, I do apologise. But him and the rest of the team made me very welcome.
