The Local Grill by Doğan Chef — Restaurant in Beyoğlu

We visited the restaurant, as it claims to specialize in meat dishes. We ordered the following items:

• 1x Fattoush salad • 1x Lahmacun • 1x Pide • 1x mixed grill platter • 2x Cola Zero • 1x Ayran

To begin with, it should be noted that the salad was fresh and tasty. The Pide was also satisfactory.

However, the rest of the dishes were disappointing. The meat on the grill platter tasted spoiled and caused stomach discomfort. The Adana, in particular, was not only inedible but also had a stale odor. Additionally, the chicken still had feathers on it, which created an unpleasant texture. The grilled tomato was served cold, suggesting it was frozen, as was the rice, which was not only cold but also hard.

The Lahmacun was also cold, and the meat tasted similar to that of the Adana, likely spoiled as well.

To make matters worse, we noticed that the Cola had been expired for several months. This prompted us to notify the staff. The waiter called the manager, who unhelpfully and rudely attempted to justify the poor quality of the food. No form of compensation was offered, aside from a complimentary tea, which is typically included with meals.

We declined the offer and requested the bill. Despite the Cola being over four months past its expiration date, it was still charged.

Conclusion:

The food was visually well-presented, but the quality did not meet expectations. The service was unfriendly, and the meal caused discomfort. For those with low expectations regarding quality and service, this restaurant may...

This cozy restaurant ” The Local Grill” in Istanbul has left in us the best impressions! The ambiance is very welcoming and charming and the staff is really friendly and you can tell from their smiles that making the customers happy is their main priority This remarkable place has very delicious food. The Hospitable hosts like Metin and Gurhan and the service we received was so amazing that we kept going back again and again. The staff made us feel welcomed and gave us an astounding experience. Comparing the quality of the food you eat at “ The Local Grill” and for their prices, for sure it’s 100% worth it. The delicious different dishes and their beautiful presentation make you crave for more. If you ask me about their desert, I can tell with confidence that it is better than Hafez Mustafa. Do yourself a favor and visit this lovely restaurant in Istanbul. You will see yourself that the service there is unmatched. The staff interest is making you happy and they truly care about your experience. I Highly recommend it to everyone because it is absolutely the best meals we had while in Istanbul.

Firstly, we ate in-house because I see many reviews addressing the delivered food.

Food/Drinks:

The food and the drinks were absolutely excellent and did the reputation justice. We received a welcome drink (alcohol-free) which was light pink and was delicious! I have yet to find out what exactly it was, it was between familiar and completely new.

The food that arrived really pleasantly surprised us in quality and taste. It was very well seasoned, juicy and had the perfect amount of chewiness. The meat is clearly fresh as are the vegetables used to make the food. Bread and all dips and sides were absolutely amazing.

Atmosphere: The place is beautifully furnished with spacious tables and comfortable chairs. Its comfortable except for the light. The light is extremely bright and a little too much for such a beautiful and elegant dining spot.

Service: The service here seems trained. All staff was extremely nice, fast, professional and pleasant to have around.
