Kubbealti — Restaurant in Bolu

If you’re visiting the center of Bolu, this restaurant is a must-try, especially for one of the most delicious gözlemes I’ve ever had. The location is central, so getting there is easy whether you’re walking around town or driving. The place is very clean and offers both indoor seating and a few tables outside.

The indoor area is beautifully decorated, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. One of the highlights here is that you can actually watch the ladies sitting around the large saj (traditional griddle), carefully preparing and cooking each gözleme by hand. It’s such an authentic and charming touch that adds to the whole experience.

They serve different types of gözleme, including classic and yogurt-served options, but the one we ordered had meat inside. The filling was generous, the flavor was outstanding, and the quality of the ingredients really came through in every bite. It’s clear they pay attention to both taste and freshness.

Prices are very reasonable for the quality you get, which makes it even more worth it. I also recommend trying their “duğ” (a refreshing yogurt-based drink) alongside your meal — it’s the perfect match for the warm, crispy gözleme.

The staff were polite, attentive, and made us feel welcome from the moment we walked in. Whether you sit outside to enjoy the fresh air or inside to admire the décor, you’re in for a delightful meal.

Bolu’nun kalbinde, geleni bir daha getiren, sadeliğiyle mest eden bir lezzet durağı: Kubbealtı. Adını çevresini saran tarihi atmosferden ve samimi dokusundan alan bu küçük ama büyük lezzet noktası, özellikle yoğurtlu gözlemesiyle şehre yolu düşen herkesin hafızasında yer ediyor.

Sade, Sessiz ve Samimi

Kubbealtı, gürültüden uzak, nostaljik bir Bolu sabahı gibi… Geniş avlusu, taş duvarları, ahşap oturma düzeni ve geleneksel köy kahvaltısını hatırlatan kokularıyla burası bir anda geçmişe açılan bir kapı gibi. Modern cafelerin yapaylığına inat, Kubbealtı’nın ruhu, doğallıkla ve samimiyetle örülmüş.

Yoğurtlu Gözleme: Tek Başına Bir Hikâye

Menünün baş tacı tartışmasız: Yoğurtlu gözleme. Ama bu öyle herhangi bir gözleme değil. Bol tereyağında nar gibi kızarmış yufkanın üzerine, kaşık kaşık dökülen sarımsaklı yoğurt ve kızgın tereyağ sosuyla yapılan bu tabak, lezzetin en mütevazı ama en etkileyici hali. Her lokması, evde pişmiş gibi doğal, köyde yapılmış gibi içten.

Yanında gelen acı biber turşusu, taptaze ayranı ve bolu tereyağı ile lezzet dengesi tam kıvamında. Ne fazla, ne eksik. Her şey olması gerektiği kadar.

Fazlasına Gerek Yok

Kubbealtı menüsü geniş değil çünkü gerek de yok. Buraya gelen herkes ya yoğurtlu gözleme ister ya da “Ben de bir deneyeyim” der. Gözlemenin yanına bazen bir mıhlama, bazen bir erişte gelir; ama ana yıldız hep aynıdır.

Küçük Bir Mola, Büyük Bir Keyif

Bolu’da geçen yolculuklarda kısa bir mola vermek, şöyle sırtını dayayıp bir tabak yoğurtlu gözlemeyle hayatı yavaşlatmak isterseniz, Kubbealtı doğru adrestir. Ne menüde abartı var, ne fiyatta. Burada tek amaç, sade ve gerçek bir tat sunmak.

Beautifully decorated traditional turkish restaurant specializing in gözleme.

Their specialty is the gözleme with yoghurt and tomato sauce. This thing is absolutely incredible. It’s like a cross between mantı and gözleme. I had the kaşar & kıyma, patates, eggplant & kıyma, ıspanaklı, and kaşar & peynir. They were all good but the eggplant & kıyma gözleme with the yoghurt and tomato sauce was my favourite. They served a breakfast platter (pictured) which includes gözleme. They make it right next to you which is pretty cool.

The price was also very reasonable, we paid about 1000 lira for about 8 or 9 people.
