Second chance and still a “no”
We came to Bar Bunn for the second time, for breakfast now. Previously they had serious problems with payment by card, but we guessed it was accidental. So decided to give it one more chance as food was fine (took pizza, salad and avocado&salmon bruschetta) and the place looks nice.
For breakfast we chose “Special breakfast” that consists of many dishes, snacks, sauces and jams. Looks quite appealing on other guests tables. It was unclear what it really consists of, it’s not specified in the menu, so we asked the waiter. He said there were potatoes, vegetables, cheese, tea and many other things. I asked about eggs, because that was what my kid wanted and the waiter said that there were eggs too.
Special breakfast costs 108 TL. As it turned out it included a basket of bread, a plate of tomatoes and cucumbers, sausage, boiled & fried potatoes, cheese plate, melon, 2 deep fried dough donuts, 2 Turkish pancakes with cheese, butter, cream, ezme, tahini and pomegranate sauces, honey, 2 types of jam, dried apricots, raisins and nuts, pickled olives, tea. No eggs... Had to order omelet in addition to this strange set.
Bread was not fresh at all, at least 2 days old, rock hard. Tried several pieces, all was inedible. Left it be. Donuts were awful. Seamed a little bit better with cream and jam. Same goes for super salty pancakes. Merely passable. Potatoes were ok, sausage briny.
I didn’t get what you have to do with all the staff like olives, tahini and etc. If it was supposed to be eaten with bread, we couldn’t do it. And after all the salt in cheese and pancakes you need the pure freshness of vegetables. So thanks for the sauces and staff, but they were left untouched.
At least melon was ripe and tasty. Vegetables were good too. Omelette (that was not included) was fine.
Take to your consideration that this bar doesn’t accept Master card. Only Visa. They don’t inform about it. And isn’t it nice to hear after you just had a rather nasty meal that non of our cards seam to work so go take cash somewhere. Luckily we had one Visa card that I use very seldom and keep just in case. No such mediocre problems in any other places we visited in Fethiye and there were a lot. And I can’t get it, why don’t they tell about it in advance? Do they enjoy making troubles for their guests?..
This breakfast costed us 130 TL. Totally absolutely overpriced. Can’t recommend this place.
As for kids menu, it is unhealthy. Took Tom and Jerry meatballs with French...

Read more🇬🇧 Brunch Disaster at BARBUNN – the Worst Restaurant Experience in Turkey
Here’s a breakdown of our brunch at BARBUNN. In my opinion, this was the worst restaurant I’ve ever visited in Turkey — both in terms of food and service.
We came on Monday at 11:00 AM, during the last day of Bayram. The restaurant was clearly serving other tables — Turkish breakfast was already on the tables, people were laughing, eating. We were a group of 11 people, including two birthday girls, and came for a brunch.
➡️ First disappointment: We waited 30 minutes just to receive menus. No water, no greetings, no food. No one came to the table. When a waiter finally showed up, he didn’t speak English at all and had no idea what we were asking for.
➡️ Second disaster: the food. The menu was very limited, and what they did serve was terribly prepared. They served us an “omelette” calling it scrambled eggs — it was literally one large unwhisked egg. They told us they didn’t have toast, sausages, or beans because of Bayram, so no proper English breakfast or anything that includes toast could be served.
➡️ I ordered a roast beef salad, expecting what I saw in the menu photo. Instead, I received a pile of salad leaves with three tiny, dry strips of beef jerky, tasting like dried fish. I asked the waiter to take a look at the menu photo and compare it to what he brought — the difference was obvious. He didn’t even try to explain — just admitted: “Sorry, we don’t have that kind of meat today.” So why not say that in advance instead of deceiving the customer?
➡️ And to top it off: a glass of orange juice costs 200 lira.
This place deserves zero stars if that were possible. Complete disappointment — service non-existent, food awful, and prices unjustified.
🇬🇧 And one more thing:
We brought our own birthday cake, which they agreed to serve. They placed the cake on the table… and then disappeared. We waited another 20 minutes for plates — no one brought anything. Eventually, we had to serve the cake on napkins, because we were tired of waiting.
Unbelievable lack of coordination and basic service.
⸻
🇹🇷 Ve bir şey daha:
Yanımızda getirdiğimiz doğum günü pastasını servis etmeyi kabul ettiler. Pastayı masaya koydular… ve sonra ortadan kayboldular. Tabaklar için 20 dakika daha bekledik — kimse getirmedi. Sonunda pastayı peçetelerin üzerine koyarak servis etmek zorunda kaldık, çünkü beklemekten bıkmıştık.
Koordinasyon sıfır, temel...
