Guven's Restaurant and Bar — Restaurant in Fethiye

Lovely place, right on the beach just past the end of the promenade, which makes it a bit quieter and more relaxed. Eat a good variety of styles of well prepared food with the magnificent backdrop of amazing sunsets. Near to the spot where part of the Bond movie Skyfall was filmed. Güven and Carol are lovely, attentive hosts, but equally, will leave you to enjoy the tranquility of the surroundings without giving their guests any hassle.

There are free sunbeds on the beach during the day (as long as you buy very reasonably priced drinks/meals), 2 free pool tables and English Premier League (vitally important for Dad) and other european football shown in the main building (usually with a choice of match). Güven's became the most visited spot during our holiday to Çalış Beach as the kids became grumpy if we went anywehere else!

For beer fans, they also sell "Pera", which at least makes a change from the ubiquitous "Efes" (which admittedly is rather good anyway). If you prefer wine, the bottles were all reasonably priced too.

This was our first visit, but it was interesting to note how many customers had obviously visited in previous years too and were now returning.

Finally, be sure to try the şakşuka ("Shack-shoo-ka"), a veggie turkish casserole served...

I really do dislike writing a negative review but we should all be honest with our experiences. So I went to Guven's this evening because the people there seemed very friendly whenever I walked past, and indeed they were very friendly. My review of 2* is related only to my food.... I had eaten a decent afternoon meal so I wanted something simple and tasty, I ordered a cheeseburger. Now my seating position, disinterest to the football on tv, the door to the kitchen and the one and only item visible inside the kitchen is where everything ended before eating commenced. I was enjoying the atmosphere of friendly locals playing games and generally enjoying themselves when the gent who was preparing my food (lovely chap by all accounts), put my burger in the microwave.... Oh S#*T I'm not happy. Now you understand my seating position and the one and only appliance visible to me! I was served a soggy disgusting burger, I managed 3 bites left 20tlr on the table and left with a polite smile and wave. I understand not all food is probably prepared in this way but I feel it is simply unacceptable. Hope you guys ditch the microwave cooking and start cooking, sadly I will not be returning a...

This is our 4th time here to fetihey in 20 years. Have to say this restaurant is our fave. Fabulous food, amazing views and great, great service. It's not trying to be something it's not. It's not trying to coax you in with freebies etc. It's simply authentic, generous and relaxed. We've waited 2x years to come back. Nothing has changed, only we have some more wrinkles and pounds😊 .
