Kaen Sushi — Restaurant in Kadıköy

The place was incredibly clean located in a beautiful cozy street.

The smell when you walked in is that of a 7 star hotel, fresh and very crisp and welcoming.

I ordered the hot and sour soup to start, it was one of the best I’ve ever had. It was delicious. It’s the perfect combination of flavours, a real authentic experience minus the tofu— there was none.

I then had several sushi orders for my main course. They were good, some better than others. I had four orders in total - all but one were salmon. Overall it was good, but not the greatest sushi I’ve had. A lot of the items on the menu seemed to be similar just prepared differently. Some classics like spicy tuna or spicy crispy salmon were not on the menu. Some were excellent like the spicy sake roll. The spicy mayo was authentic, I believe kewpie mayo was used, but over all I wasn’t blown away. The fish in one of my orders came out brown, and not pink like in the menus photo. I was skeptic so at how fresh it was. I didn’t finish my plate- and I always finish my place. It’s good, but not something I would go out of my way for again. My hunt for the best sushi in Istanbul continues. Oh, but the soup was ordered again at the end— yes, it was that good! I spent 700 tl for 4 orders of sushi, 8 pieces each, two hot and sour soups...

Kaen Sushi is a real hidden gem! It’s a bit tricky to find, especially if you’re not driving, but the walk from the nearest public transport is well worth it.

The ambiance is cozy, and the food is absolutely delicious. We especially loved the sashimi. Even though they were out of fatty tuna, the salmon and regular tuna we had were amazing—so fresh and flavorful. The rolls were equally impressive; we tried a bunch of them, and my favorite of all was one with red rice. Do not miss the shrimp tempura with creamy turmeric and coconut—it was unique and so delish! A must-try!

We had dessert, which was supposed to be a Japanese cake, but it was just a frozen/ice cream cake. It was nicely done, but if you're full, it's okay to skip.

The service was polite and attentive, adding to an overall great experience. Definitely...

Kaen dekoratif açıdan da beni en çok tatmin eden yerlerden birisidir, kalabalık bir grup olarak tercih etmemize rağmen her daim rahat edebileceğimiz şık masalarda ağırlandık. İki ayrı katında ve aynı zamanda hem ön hem arka bahçelerinde hizmet sundukları mekanda, toplantıları için tercih edecek ekipleri memnun edebilecek VIP salon seçenekleri dahi var.👌🏼 Personeller güleryüzlü ve ilgililer, aynı zamanda da menü hakkında bilgililer, ki Uzak Doğu mutfağı konseptli bir mekanda bunun önemli olduğunu düşünüyorum.🙃

Menüye gelirsek genel hatlarıyla başlangıçlar, ana yemekler, nigiriler, rollerden oluşan geniş bir menüsü var. Kaen hakkında en sevdiğim özelliklerden biri de güncel menülerine rollerin fotoğraflarıyla beraber her daim sitelerinden ulaşabiliyor olmamız.🖤 Günümüzde fiyatlar hakkında herhangi bir tahminde bulunmak oldukça zorlaşmışken mekanların menü paylaşımı yapmasını bir tüketici olarak yararlı buluyorum.👌🏼

Her gidişimizde kesinlikle masada olan değişmez favorilerimiz tam kıvamında acılı mayonez sosuyla sunulan karides tempura “Rock Shrimp Tempura” ve hayatımda yediğim en güzel sushi olma özelliğini henüz kaybetmemiş olan soya kağıdına sarılmış tempura karidesli, trüf mayonezi ve patates cipsi ile sunulan “Hoshi Roll”.🫠🫠🫠

Menüsünden klasik ve special rollerden pek çok roll denedik, Hoshi Rollü geçemese de Pink Jonetsu Roll, Kaen Crunchy ve Philedalphia da sevdiklerim arasındaydı.🍤🍱 Mısır tempurası ve general tso tavuğu da ortalama üstü güzel lezzetlerdi, fakat özellikle ikisi için tercih etmezdim. Ben bu tür yiyecekleri daha bol soslu sevdiğimden bana hitap etmemiş olabilir.🤷🏽‍♀️

Kısacası sushi ilk defa deneyecekseniz veya halihazırda sushi yemekten zevk alan birisiyseniz Kaen’i gözüm kapalı tavsiye edebilirim. Şık akşam yemekleri için de akşam planlarınız öncesi hızlı ama hem göze hem mideye hitap edecek bir yemek için de tercih...
