Sirena — Restaurant in Konak

I really, really wanted to give this place a 5 star review. I had high hopes for this place. I had it saved on Google maps as a place to eat at when in Izmir. I finally got to Izmir and I always go to the places I label on Google maps. When I see a menu with high prices, I get excited! Because if you are going to charge a high price that usually means the standard of what is being served will be high. Therefore I was ready to eat something great! We ordered two Paradox cocktails, they couldn't be made, the server asked if we could choose something else. We chose the El Gato then that couldn't be made either so we chose the Pheonix. We ordered spicy wings, chicken tacos, sea salt and rosemary fries and chicken fajitas. The wings were not spicy at all and they were undercooked, zero chrisp. They were served with a hot sauce that was closer to a ketchup. The chicken tacos were decent. The sea salt and rosemary fries were good, I feel like they would of been great if they were served with fresh cut potatoes instead of restaurant grade frozen fries. The Chicken fajitas were cooked nicely however they lacked flavor and the three sauces they were served with the fajitas were blend and added zero flavor to the dish. Unfortunately the food didn't live up to the prices charged on the menu. For Turkish standards maybe the food is good. I still have this place a three star because I believe it could do better. I went in with the intention of giving it a 5 star and I really wanted but unfortunately it couldn't quite get there. I have been to places that serve the same type of food but with 5 star reviews on those specific dishes. I did not compare Sirena to those places but to regular places. I can say I've had better fajitas at Texas Lonestar, better wings at most typical pizza joints and better tacos at many places. There is a fantastic vibe to this place, the staff are all friendly, the music always fits the mood and the drinks are spot on

There are quite a few other bars / pubs on the strip but this has been my go to since I got here...

People speak English here too so that's also a big bonus...
