Avoid Ege Palas Business Hotel – Terrible Experience!

I stayed at Ege Palas Business Hotel in Izmir and it was an absolute disaster from start to finish. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone, especially if you value your time, comfort, and sanity.

Unstable Internet: First of all, the internet here is beyond frustrating. It constantly disconnects, and when it does work, it's painfully slow. I couldn't even send an email without having to wait for ages, let alone get any actual work done. It's a business hotel, but the Wi-Fi situation is an absolute joke.

Stinky Rooms: The room smelled like an ashtray. Even though I specifically requested a non-smoking room, it was clear that smoking is still happening indoors here. The stench of stale cigarette smoke was unbearable, and it lingered throughout my stay. I tried to air out the room, but it didn’t help at all. Definitely not the clean and fresh environment you expect from a "business hotel."

Slow Elevator: The elevator is another issue. It takes forever to arrive, and when it does, it feels like it’s about to break down at any moment. I ended up walking up and down the stairs because the elevator was so unreliable and sluggish. It’s not a good look for a place that claims to cater to business travelers.

Subpar Food: And don’t even get me started on the food. The breakfast is nothing more than a sad buffet of tasteless, low-quality options. I barely found anything edible, and what I did was underwhelming at best. If you’re hoping for a decent meal, you’re better off looking elsewhere.

I stayed here for 5 days. The staff was very friendly and helped me with my luggage. (more) It looks very oriental when you first walk in. The staff at the reception was very nice. They have a room price list on the wall where it says that a double room cost 190€ a night but online it’s 35-55€. They had two elevators for 21 floors which is easier for guests. After the 5th floor you’ll able to see the city from the elevator. The windows are very dirty. The elevator doors are squeaking. The room looks very cozy. I had a sea view. It gets very loud at 8 PM til 2 AM. There’s a whole strip of bars around the corner. Cars are honking blasting music.. The cups on the table are in plastic bags, but still had hair in it. The refrigerator had hair in it as well. The shower head had a leak. The bathroom door was squeaking like a cat. The A/C didn’t work very well. Breakfast was ok, the pastries sometimes were real old (maybe heated up from the day before) the sautéed potatoes as well. The bread rolls came packed and are not fresh. I once ate in the restaurant in the 21st floor and had a bread roll it had mold on it!!!!! The waitress threw it away and didn’t apologize or offer us anything. Wow! 🤮 The hand soap in the bathroom is a bar and it’s hard to clean the hands with it because it doesn’t clean well. THE WIFI WORKED ANYWHERE BUT IN MY ROOM!!!
