This review is about MADO located in the International Departures of SAW. The restaurant is located in the food court area and it is basic knowledge that people can take food from wherever they want and sit wherever they want in a food court. My husband got food from somewhere else and we sat at MADO. I am pregnant and my 1.5 year old daughter requested to be breastfed so I started breastfeeding her. A waiter shows up asking us to leave because my husband has food from another restaurant. Literally who on earth asks a pregnant woman to leave who also happens to breastfeed her other child at the moment. This behavior requires zero empathy and tolerance. Another waiter told us that we can stay but i was very upset with the initial behavior. So we left, my child was crying frantically and we could not find another spot to sit. I had to carry my crying child for hundreds of meters while being pregnant till we could find another seat. Thanks for this horrible experience. Never again. Also the menu doesn’t include the prices next to the food pictures. You need to go all the way till the end of the menu to find a list of pric s printed in very small font. Then you see that everything is extremely overpriced compared to their non...
Read moreOrdered pManti which I love and have enjoyed in many restaurants in Turkey. I had high expectations as one of the famous eatery Mado in Turkey however I was extremely disappointed. They brought a manti without garlic yogurt to the table. For this reason, I said I wanted a manti with garlic yogurt. ( I should say as a Turkish Manti is made with garlic yogurt, this is not an extra request.) The waitress asked if she could bring the separate yogurt and I accepted.
I waited for about 15 more minutes for this yogurt to arrive. While the orders were supposed be arrived quickly at the Airport, I waited for a bowl of yogurt for 15 minutes in Sabiha Gokcen Mado and noticed that they had just chopped the garlic into the yogurt instead of crush. Finally I asked the bill and I noticed that they added 28 TL for this yogurt and I was incredibly surprised. When the waiter asked if she could bring the yogurt separately, accepted it for convenience but it is very unprofessional to add this amount to the bill. By the way, the restaurant manager was a very polite lady, she removed this amount from the bill and apologized. Thanks for...
Read moreThis is a really aesthetic and comfortable place to dine as far as airports go - it's located on the upper floor so you do need to take an escalator up, and it's easy to spot from below being surrounded by windows and good signage. The seating is very comfortable, but the staff was a bit slow despite it being far from busy. It is a sit down so they come to you with a menu and your food after. The menu is a little confusing at first because the front is an extensive catalogue with pictures of every single dish - skip to the back where the last few pages are the actual listed menu options with prices. It would be nice if servers could indicate this to diners as they hand over the menu. My friend and I got eggs and they were cooked properly - my omelette was just very salty. Also the complimentary bread basket was filled but everything below the top 2-3 were rock hard stale; it would be better to serve just one fresh bread per customer. Cost might be moderate locally, but for me it was high value! Coming from Toronto, Canada we also have Mado but the cost is like *3-4x...
