Usta Dönerci — Restaurant in Pendik

I was the only person there and waited for my order for 40 minutes. The cashier guy told me it’ll take 10-15 minutes, but he was way off. They only started making my order when I asked them how much longer will it take. When the lady cashier came (the cashier guy left) it seemed like she tried to rush the person in the kitchen, but then he started yelling something. They were talking about my order because I kept hearing “İskender” and that was one of the dishes I ordered. The guy in the kitchen sounded angry (which I didn’t quite understand, he was the only one in the kitchen (no one was in his way or stressing him out), had 1 order to make, and I just saw him standing and doing nothing) and the lady cashier seemed upset/stressed. The chicken doner was very underwhelming 🥲 The İskender dish was good though, might be too greasy for some. Fries were good too, not too salty. Tried to place an order here before a recent flight. Told the cashier that I wanted a doner durum wrap that they had displayed on their menu for 130 liras. The guy just flat out told me no, its not available, when the doner meat was right there infront of everyone being put into other more expensive items. I asked about another similar item and basically got the same response. It looks like he was just interested in selling the higher priced items which everyone else seemed to be ordering. Really poor customer service and attitude from the cashier who was a taller and larger sized turkish guy. The other staff seemed friendly but this guy had major attitude. I wasn't surprised to see the mcdonalds and other cafes packed and this one empty based on the terrible customer service and attitude here. Such a shame that they give tourists a negative impression of their country and service as they are departing...

SCAMMERS

We ordered two kebabs for a quick bite and were surprised by a payment of 40 euros and a receipt including 6 lines of "EXTRAS" and some other stuff we did not order!

We requested for a refund, that they declined at first, but once another customer came to the counter with the same issue causing a scene in front of the restaurant, he did refund us.

He wanted to keep our order and bank receipt (probably to avoid leaving any proof of their scamming or to cancel the refund later) and threatened to call the police if we don't. We agreed that the police must get involved, and of course he was bluffing.

Just avoid this place, dishonest and unprofessional staff. The meat looks...
