Cariboo Restaurant — Restaurant in Kampala

I made a rash decision. I don't know Kampala. walked in off the street without assessing the area. I sat outside to relax and relax I did. Cariboo is quite inexpensive. I ordered deep fried Tilapia and chips. Good to slob sometimes. The tilapia came covered in curried vegatables. Hmm! This helped to disguise the fact that either the chef wasn't a chef or the person had deep fried this poor creature on some other occasion in the past. There were a group near me who were eating pizza. They seemed to be quite happy polishing it off. Looked pretty poor to me, but maybe I'm just too fussy. In the end if you're into good healthy quality eating then this is probably not the place to come to eat. On the other hand I did enjoy the couple of beers sitting quietly in the small area outside. Staff were nice....

It is a very centrally located Venue relatively quiet and away from the excessively noisy Environment of downtown Kampala (especially Bodabodas.) Air Quality is almost perfect and fresh. The general Layout is also quite good with very good Furniture and condusive Ambience for private Business or Social Exchange.

It is located astride Amber House, opposite the Main Post Office's Eastern Wing; to the Nouth, it borders Standard Chartered Bank Headquarters, and in proximity with Uganda Telcom's Headquarters, Grand Imperial Hotel, Speke Hotel, Collin House and Kampala Sheraton Hotel. Went on a Saturday. Place has got poor service. Had to stand up and walk to the counter a couple of times just to order. Could be perhaps because there's not such a big crowd (the place is somewhat secluded), and therefore there's no need to have many waiters/waitresses.
