On 24 September 2025, I visited La Cueva in Bukoto. I ordered pasta for lunch, but when it was served, it was incredibly salty. I did my best to eat it, but after eating half of it, I told the manager, Iman, that the food was incredibly salty. Then the bill came. Iman wanted me to pay the full price for the pasta even though it was inedible due to the big amount of salt. They also wanted me to take the rest of the pasta home to finish it there, which I did not want to do. Instead of talking to the chef about this, all the blame was shifted onto me. From 1:50 p.m. to 4 p.m., I was held captive in the restaurant. No matter how I talked to the manager, Iman, he didn't want to come to a solution; he just wanted his money. A police officer tried to resolve the situation, but Iman told lies about me. Eventually, a soldier managed to resolve the situation. But even then, Iman tried to steal 3,000 shillings from me. I ordered it without onion (did they forget the other ingredients?) There were no herbs or seasoning, only salad cream. It was a very boring salad. I told the waitress and she just said sorry but didn't ask what I meant. I enjoyed the fresh beetroot juice but had not requested a plastic straw. Restaurant businesses, please do away with single use plastic and ditch the plastic straws or provide paper ones. Plastic straws are very difficult to recycle and most end up in the sea (amazingly). Told the waitress (Rebecca) to cancel the order, her supervisor walks to our table a minute later & said we should give them 7 minutes, 15 minutes later, the waitress comes back saying, it’s okay, your food has been cancelled. Talking to the supervisor (no name tag) after being given such disappointing news, she says; ‘I did not know you had cancelled your order.’ 1st, how do you coordinate the floor with poor communication. I’ve never gotten so pissed at service. I am so pissed even this morning cause I slept hungry & my whole night was ruined. I surely must even make a TikTok out of this experience....
