Lock&Key Restaurant — Restaurant in Kampala

I saw a post on Tiktok about a new restaurant downtown and I loved the idea of a restaurant that's not a 'Kafunda'. I invited my girlfriends there on a Sunday and I was blown away by the great ambience, delicious breakfast(at just 20,000ugx btw) which was so filling. The fact that the food is Halal was a bonus.

Melissa and Timothy are great hosts and I inevitably had to come back and this time I brought my kids along and boy did they have a great time.

They enjoyed the food and nothing was spared. We ordered for the buy one get one free pizza special on Sunday and packed the rest of it. We were literally in a food coma!

Melissa really hosted us well, she's such a sweetheart . The Kids were entertained with coloring material and We even got free ice cream for being return customers and that was the cherry on top.

I highly recommend Lock and Key if you're looking for an ambient place to dine, have a business meeting in the Business lounge, great food and convenient location right in the heart of Kampala.

Tucked away on the 4th floor of Royal complex opposite the old Taxi Park, the restaurant is a peaceful haven away from the chaotic traffic and Bodas right down the street. The breakfast is good continental variety and substantial portion. Service is courteous and prompt. Also you can get an amazing view of the taxi park and the haphazard parking..that seems to define the very soul of downtown Kampala. Definitely recommended if you want to get away from the chaos even...

It was a great experience.

We decided to go because we were in the area. We had been buying things downtown. It’s very convenient and safe when you’re in the area. Like if you need quality and safe food, that’s the go to for me now when downtown.

I loved my meal. It arrived in time. Much faster than anticipated actually. Love that there is the option of local food alongside the junk food. A great mix, plenty options to choose from.
