We went to the Easter brunch at Giornotte today (family of 3), and had a very mixed experience. There was a mix of good, bad and ugly. Despite the ugly I want to give a fair review. Rating: 3 star as it represents the mixed feeling we had of the whole brunch.
The Ugly: When we arrived, we were showed to our table by the staff. However while on the way, another staff member talked to the person accompanying us and redirected us in a different way. We ended being brought to a table where other guests had already been seated, which clearly showed as they already had eaten at the table. There were crumbs on the table, chairs and all over the floor under the table. The least concerning, but that should be mentioned, was that the tables were decorated on the Easter theme with eggs, however this was the only one that did not have them. Clearly there were many signs that the staff should have seen but no one seemed too concerned about this. After many complaints and a good wait, we were taken to a different table. I'm amazed that it wasn't done straight away. If the table had been rearranged properly we wouldn't have noticed. However this was pure negligence. Really not a 5 star hotel experience. Had I not complained, they would not have minded leaving us with that table, which would have been bad from a hygiene point of view. We received an apology (at least) but it ended there, half-baked apology.
The Bad: The dessert was very disappointing. One advice, don't go there for good desserts. The dessert buffet was very nice visually, however the quality of the dessert was mediocre. Cakes were just not good. Having been to this restaurant in the past, I remember that it used to be better, even if it already wasn't that amazing. Desserts are usually not the strong point of most of the restaurants and brunches, but on that scale, this was very weak.
The Good: Apart from the disappointing dessert, the rest of the food was good. There was a large variety of food, for all tastes, and it was tasty. This seemed more like the Giornotte that we had been to in the past. Besides the actual desserts, there was a nice fresh fruit buffet The cooks at the live stations were all very helpful and served us delicious food. The waiting staff was very nice and friendly and was on the look out to ensure that the rest of the brunch went smoothly. An Entertainer voucher was available for brunch, which made the bill more palatable.
Overall the experience was made rather average by the mess up that happened on arrival. This straight away set a bad atmosphere, and although it was partially relieved by the food (except the dessert) and waiting staff, we left with a sour taste. Such mistakes just cannot happen in this kind of establishments and can ruin the whole...

ย ย ย Read moreALMOST the best weekend Brunch ever. ...overall the Saturday Brunch is outstanding and here's why (with why I'd give it 9/10 instead of 10):
FOOD: Selection was varied with many Asian, Western, International options with quality being of a very very high level.
What was impressive was the Butchers counter which cut / selected the steak or chops you liked, seasoned it to your liking and you passed it to the live bbq grill station behind.
There is something for everyone and shamefully I ate more than I thought mu stomach allowed.
The selection of soft drinks were included in the soft package and had mocktails and fresh orange and watermelon juice.
Why I'd dock a point is because the sweet and dessert section could have been more varied and it was missing ice cream (only had popsicles), which is a must! That would have given this Brunch a 10/10.
SERVICE: Staff were very courteous and considering how busy they were tried their best so do leave a tip if you can (they receive them).
INSIDERS TIP: Use the Entertainer App for Buy One Brunch Get One Free
Overall, the best Brunch I've had so far...
