Sidekicks — Restaurant in Abu Dhabi

We recently dined at the Sidekicks Restaurant at WB Abu Dhabi. The hotel and lobby are very family-friendly, and my kids had a blast! We visited as part of our package, and I upgraded to include half board at WB. The process was smooth—just show your QR code and you're good to go. The staff were friendly and helpful.

The restaurant itself had a super fun atmosphere for kids, with plenty of exciting options like a cookies section, soft-serve ice cream, popcorn, a donut wall, and a chocolate fountain. However, I was disappointed to learn that soft drinks weren't included in the upgrade—there was no prior information about this, and it wouldn't have cost much to add them.

The first night was Italian-themed, and unfortunately, the food quality didn't meet expectations. The risotto at the live station was pre-cooked, dry, and lacked the proper texture, even after I requested a new batch. Other food items were quite average, and desserts like the cheesecake were melted. The chocolate in the fountain was oily and not enjoyable. The next day was BBQ night, and while I expected better, the steak I received was undercooked and lacked seasoning. The chef did approach and offer a replacement, which was just okay.

I would highly recommend that they improve the food quality, especially considering the brand. On the second day, there were fewer options for kids aside from sweets. Additionally, we noticed a bad smell in the prayer room, and one of the family restrooms wasn't clean, which my wife unfortunately experienced. Given how busy the hotel was, they should really pay more attention to these details.

We would like to specifically commend our wonderful waiters, Abdo, Kasem, and Caroline, who were attentive, warm, and highly professional throughout our meal. Their recommendations were spot-on, and they anticipated our needs before we even had to ask. Finally, we must acknowledge Mr. Sami, the Manager. His leadership and commitment to excellence are clearly reflected in the high standards maintained by the entire restaurant staff. He runs a flawless operation that makes every guest feel valued. I recently had the pleasure of dining with my kids at Sidekicks restaurant, where we enjoyed both the breakfast and dinner buffet. Our experience was truly exceptional, thanks in large part to the fantastic service provided by Abdulrahman, Nyarai, and Gel.
