Rainbow Steak House — Restaurant in Al Qasimia

I went there very hungry, after a busy day. I tried every single dish they had. It was the first time at a buffet that almost 95% of the dishes were either satisfactory or above standard. If they can keep up the service that was provided to me on July 5, then I can say that they are one of the best buffets I've had in UAE and I've eaten at quite a lot of places.

They had a decent variety of foods. Service was extremely friendly, kind and quick.

Thank you for a very good meal - the tea I ordered at the end was a great ending to a big feast.

Improvement:

Add some juices to the buffet to self serve

Cristy shrimp appetizer needs to change recipe and needs a dip

Gulab jamun should have more milk powder

The meat needs to be more moist (first dish in Arabic section)

Mousse has no flavor and texture is too buttery

Kebabs could use more flavor and chutneys

I am craving your buffet...

The food taste is absolutely mouth-watering. We walked in for an Ala Carte option but the Buffet spread was so amazing that we changed our mind.

The day we visited, they were serving Grilled Short Ribs and they were the best I have ever tried. If I wasn't there for the Buffet, I would have only had the short ribs.

However, what really caught my eye was a sign that said "if you waste food, we will collect, weigh, pack, charge you and give it to you". I think this was very good and thoughtful. This discourages people from wasting food and warning them as well. I really wanted them to exercise it but sadly no one wasted the food.

I rated low on the service because the staff though visible, were no where to be seen when needed. Additionally, there would be empty food dishes and guests had to wait for a refill from the kitchen. If there are more waiting staff, they can inform the kitchen sooner. Additionally, we were asked to sit in a cabin as the open hall was booked for a party. We had to ring bells to call the waiting staff but the bell wasn't functional. And when we came back with refills, our previous plates were not...

I saw all the good reviews on google and went there to experience a good buffet, but I was nothing but disappointed. The variety was good, they had some good options in the mains and appetizers and even desserts. But here's the problem, almost everything lacked taste. The only thing tikka about the chicken, was the red colour, the sheesh tawook, did not even look like sheesh tawook, let alone the taste, it was full of salt. Some fish stir frys were good, the fried stuff was good but cold. You expect to eat hot grilled shrimp or atleast warm, they were COLD. A lot of the items (sides) were clearly missing and no one was in the mood to refill them certainly. The rice dishes werent tasting good at all, the mandi looked so bad (cold and probably sitting since morning), I didn't even touch it. Deserts were okay, like a 7/10, the mains and appetizers were a 6/10. For the price point only the variety was good but what do you do with all that variety if the food tastes so bland.
