Lahkee is truly a hidden gem in Al Safa – the kind of place you almost don’t want to share, but it deserves all the recognition. The restaurant has an intimate, retro-Japanese vibe, and they encourage reservations in advance, especially if you want to be seated at the coveted spot right in front of the open kitchen. Watching the chefs at work adds to the whole charm. The atmosphere feels like stepping into a nostalgic time capsule – cozy, warm, and filled with the hum of carefully curated background music that makes the setting even more special. When it comes to the food, Lahkee goes beyond just delicious – you can taste the heart and effort that goes into every dish. Each plate feels soulful and thoughtfully crafted, designed to satisfy both comfort cravings and adventurous palates. We ordered: • Lahkee 3 • Lahkee 4 • Lahkee 6 • Ube Mango Sticky Rice And because it was my husband’s birthday, they surprised us with a complimentary dessert – Lahkee Eight – such a thoughtful touch that made the evening even more memorable. What really sets Lahkee apart is the chance to connect with the chefs, who generously share their humble beginnings and the story behind the restaurant’s name. It’s rare to find that personal touch paired with such high-quality food. Overall, Lahkee is more than just a meal – it’s an experience filled with excitement, adventure, and nostalgia. A place where food, atmosphere, and heartfelt service come together beautifully.

A Hidden Gem in Dubai! I went here with a friend, and we shared two starters and a main dish. The food was absolutely excellent—especially the chicken korokke curry. Having been to Japan and tasted authentic curries there, I never found anything in Dubai that came close—until now. I later found out that the chef trained under a Japanese chef for over seven years, and it really shows. The taste was truly authentic, and the ambience transported me straight back to Osaka. The staff were incredibly kind and friendly, and the retro music playlist added the perfect touch. It’s been a long time since I actually vibed to music while enjoying a meal! A small tip: Make a reservation in advance, as indoor seating is limited—unless you’re okay sitting outside in the summer heat. It shouldn’t be a problem during winter, though. If you’re looking to experience genuine local-style Japanese food that you don’t usually find on typical menus, this place is a must-try.

We went for a midweek lunch at LahKee, and it honestly felt like stumbling upon a hidden treasure. I can’t say enough good things about this place. The food was absolutely amazing. Each dish was crafted with such precision, care and love. It’s clear that every plate that leaves the kitchen carries a piece of the chefs’ hearts. What truly made the experience unforgettable was chatting with the owners (husband and wife) whilst we dined at the chef’s counter, hearing about their journey and their excitement for future menu creations. They are some of the kindest people I’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting. The service was thoughtful and personal, and they took the time to walk us through each dish as they were served. To top it all off, they kindly gave us a sample of an upcoming dessert, which was incredible. Their 5-star rating is more than deserved. Will certainly visit again and also recommend to friends/family.

Me and hubby had a wonderful late lunch this weekend at LahKee. We sat at the Chef's counter and witnessed our food being prepared and cooked. We definitely over ordered as everything looked appetizing so we didn't get around to the desserts, but will definitely make sure to try them the next time around.

We ordered the (1) chicken and prawn wonton, followed by (2) LahKee Six which is grilled teriyaki unagi and soft shell crab tempura roll, (3) LahKee One breaded chicken burger - possibly the best chicken burger in town, (4) LahKee Four which is sticky fried rice with prawn, (5) LahKee Seven which is grilled satay with the most delicious peanut sauce. Everything we ate is highly recommended and will definitely eat again, although my hero dish is the breaded chicken burger, which is absolutely bomb albeit messy to eat. They do however, serve it with a pair of gloves, if getting your fingers dirty ain't your thing.

Plus point of sitting at the Chef's counter is we got to chat with the husband & wife chef about the food and their future plans for menu updates. And may I add, they have given us a sample of one of their planned dessert updates and it was just divine! chef's kiss all around Would have licked the bowl if it was socially acceptable lol. We were also given back scratcher as a keepsake, which was so cute and endearing and definitely handy!

Would definitely come back and highly recommend to try this place, 5 stars is definitely...

It was honestly a pleasant surprise! We sat in front of the chefs and they were so attentive to our needs - Mary really took care of us and the food was even better than i had imagined.

We had ordered Lakhee 2 and 3 as mains along with Lakhee 6 (sushi rolls) and ube mango sticky rice as a dessert.

We loved everything. Lakhee 2 (Tteokbokki) was delicious, the sauce was unique in a lovely way and quite addictive.

Lakhee six was lovely, it had a nice crunch from the sweet potatoes and the ingredients tasted fresh as explained by Mary in the video.

But gotta say Lakhee 3 stole the show. The meat was absolutely soft, so soft my one year old daughter had no trouble chewing it! The noodles were flavored well and the vegetables used were so fresh and complimented the dish well.

The ube mango sticky rice desert did satisfy our sweet cravings. Got to give props to that coconut cream dip - it was wonderful - this was my husbands favourite.

My favourite desert was this little mochi plate they had served on the house because it was my birthday 🥹delicious, soft, chewy and again pairs well with coconut cream.

Lastly they even chopped up some extra mango for my little one to enjoy.

I had absolutely enjoyed the night and the vibes...
