Maeme's Piri Piri Aberdeen — Restaurant in Aberdeen City

I received a delivery through deliveroo on a Friday night at 7pm. Food was delivered in under 30 mins still hot and from a very nice delivery driver. (Unable to tip through deliveroo for some reason, sorry man, next time)

The grilled wings are fantastic, meat falls off the bone and the flavour is deliscious. The mango and lime is very flavourful with a delightful crust. The medium ones likewise, and would suit most people spice wise.

The garlic mayo dip is spectacular and I could drink it.

The chips (large) were an appropriate portion, and were of a deliscious takeaway standard. Cooked nicely in what I can assume is a lower temp. Midly crispy, dense texture, soft interior.

My only criticisms are the chicken wrap, it was a little small compared to other takeaways (mostly kebab style takeaways, not piri ones.) But still deliscious. The burrito was heavy on what I think was turmeric? But it was still most deliscious.

Service is excellent. Takes a while to arrive but it’s because it’s really good quality food, not fast food rubbish. Although the actual delivery could be quicker as my food took 40mins once just eat said it was out for delivery. Anyways the food was amazing, it totally hit the spot, chicken is always amazing, chocolate cake top notch and burgers really good, my only stipulation is that there’s too much water in the burger, the water actually streams out as you eat it and by the end of the burger I had to discard my bun as it was completely sogging wet. This happened last time, I do think the burgers are home made as they aren’t greasy atall which is what makes them so good but the water that comes out of it lets it down a little. If this was fixed it would be absolutely 10/10! Defo my go to take away when I don’t want to feel rubbish the next day after...

I have really enjoyed Maemae’s until this evening. Previously I even persuaded my family to get takeaway dinner here and all enjoyed it. This evening they were very busy and told me it would be a while. However I was increasingly confused when my order was passed by (326) and 336, 10 orders later, was being served before me. When I interjected, the order was checked and from my perspective, it looked as if because it was a small order it had been neglected. I could see where the orders were put up and recognise the situation having worked in hospitality for some time. Forgotten order… This has left me with a bitter taste in the mouth with my favourite fast food restaurant in town. I love their wings and their food. But tonight was a let down. Even the chicken burger was lukewarm...
