My experience here was kind of mixed - I drove an extra 12 minutes off my route to get here because I was both hungry and needed the loo, and it was the only place I could find nearby (on Google Maps etc) that was definitely open (at 2am on a Monday night) and had a car park etc. But when I got there, I found the entrance door was shut. Someone came to the door, and I explained my situation, but they wouldn't let me use the toilet and also didn't know of anywhere else I could go that would be open. So I had to find another way to deal with that, which wasn't ideal.
I did order food after that, and there was quite a wait - at least 8 minutes from the order being completed at the drive through to getting the food. Half of that was waiting for the lone car that was in front to be served, and then the other half waiting for mine.
But it was actually worth the wait, as the fries were extremely nice and fresh (they would have been the best I've ever had from McDonald's by a long way, except somehow they were even more ridiculous tasty at Peterborough services in the middle of the night about a month ago, so that still beats these just slightly). So I don't know if that's just down to luck in terms of the oil being changed recently or what, but the veggie wrap I had was also somehow nicer than usual - both in terms of how it was put together and how it tasted. It even looked lightly toasted on the outside, which I haven't noticed before. So well done to whoever was making the food, even if it did take them...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI must say, Shoreham's McDonald's is a reliable, clean and well maintained branch of the global chain.
We oft visit the drive through, and although in our three years of living close by we have had maybe one or two negative experiences, on the whole this McDonald's is very reliable. Our orders have been almost always perfect, which is no mean feat given the popularity, and therefore busyness, of this location.
The restaurant itself is clean, well maintained and relatively pleasant depending on what time you visit. Of course, children frequent the location but I have never had an issue with any. Close by you will find Adur Rec, a nice open space where one could enjoy their McDonald's (if driving over, it may be too far if walking and one's McDonald's may get cold!).
Whilst we do not order milkshakes often, we have never encountered the classic 'machine broken' conundrum, and, now as I think of it, I don't believe they have ever been out of stock of an item we have wanted to order.
The food is always perfectly cooked, hot, and fresh. Service is always mild mannered, friendly and helpful.
Overall, I would very much recommend this McDonald's branch. I have only given four stars, however, as because this branch is so good it can get very busy! Which leads to a long wait time in the drive through, sometimes exasperated by the train crossing near by that plays havoc on traffic.
Nonetheless, I would certainly recommend...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMcdonalds is standard fast food, so my expectations are very simple. Attentive service, minimal wait, standard portion sizes and hot food. Iāve made a number of visits with a view to give benefit of doubt when Iāve had a poor experience but so far I canāt remember a time Iāve had a good one there, so I wonāt be visiting anymore. Experiences I had include:
I had to park up in a bay to wait for one happy meal when using the drive through whilst all the other food I received got cold.
Chip cartons flattened so that the actual portion of chips given are half the amount they should be.
A missing half of a Big Mac.
Wrong size chip portions given
Missing burgers and chips in my take away order ( it serves me right for not checking first!)
Being charged for products which were out of stock and waiting for a refund whilst my take away order got cold
If visiting this branch, be prepared for a long wait and always check your take away order before you head home!
Service at the till is good but thatās the only positive I can draw from my experiences. Iāll be taking my custom elsewhere...
