Uncle Sams Hamburger Express Shoreham — Restaurant in Adur

On the 30/10/16 i was very unfortunate in that my daughter and partner decided to treat me to an uncle sams they got me my usual order of a chicken sandwich with the chicken sliced after a busy day i sat down and started to eat my food, id normally check inside but this time i didn't i hadn't eaten all day so was hungry id eaten over half before a piece of salad fell onto my plate and on looking at what had just fallen out of sandwich i almost threw up i headed straight to the bathroom to be sick, i went back to the lefty over food and what had been a lettuce now looked like a piece of old beef i dreaded looking inside what was left of my chicken sandwich an i was absolutely right to be so as the salad on one side of chicken had disintegrated onto the chicken and looked more like tuna i cannot believe what i was seeing i was so disgusted that i got dressed and headed to uncle sams about 21.50 as soon as i stepped inside i asked the lad behind the till and another lad sweeping up what the hell were they playing at and proceeded to tell them of my disgust and photos of the food i was served and said if I'm ill they would be held responsible eventually the manager joined us and half showed me the contents of lettuce bucket which was full of green healthy lettuce he was standing the other side of counter he was adiment it wasn't his lettuce and tried to blame the chicken i told him i was going to go to the environmental services and he kindly told me that i should and went on to tell me of each step of the procedure like he knew so well i felt bad that i had blamed the lads who said absolutlyy nothing they were good lads and it had been their manager who was the one who prepered and cooked food. i left and headed home i live in shoreham and before i got home it dawned on me the shop had been empty when i burst through the doors upset and complaining the manager took so long i didn't realise he was even there on premises while he listened to me telling the jads just what i thought of them as he was busy chopping up fresh lettuce only realising after he presented me with a nice full bucket of green healthy leafs so not only did this despicable human being with no regard for the health of the unsuspecting Shoreham and Southwick residents he was now insulted me again with bare face lying because he got caught out and should be made accountable for his actions this isn't just lazy couldn't careless this is someone who hates there job and us the customers he is a danger to the public i have contacted Adur environmental health and i will be contacting head office. id like to leave pictures to this review if it allows me to.unfortunately i can't HEALTH WARNING...

Uncle Sam's is without doubt my favourite burger outlet and will choose it over the larger chains when I can. The shop is always clean, the staff friendly and the food is made fresh to order every time. There's a small eating area where you can watch the world go by if that's your thing.

My personal favourite is the chicken el fuego which had a lovely kick to it and i believe is made with thier own chili sauce (but don't quote me on that). As I write this at 09:30 I'm fancying one right now. The fries are lovely and they include all sachets of salt so you can choose if you want them salted or not.

Only two minor gripes. I think they are quite pricey (although quality comes at a price and this is proper quality) for "fast food" and I do wish the milkshakes came in a bigger cup. But apart from that, I think this place makes the...

I bought some delicious food today for my Grandson & myself as a special treat we try not to eat fast food too often so my Grandson was really happy but when we got home we were short of a large fries but not wanting to ruin my Grandson excitement decided to make do Which wasn't much of a hardship really but decided to call Uncle Sam's & explain & ask if they wouldn't mind putting the cost of the fries in a charity pot as driving back would cost more than the fries but no matter how many times I rang there was no answer .
