Papa Johns Pizza — Restaurant in Amber Valley

Please don’t order from this store (coming from someone who recently left after working there as a uni student for 2 and a bit years)

The treatment of staff at this restaurant is not the greatest. They had 2 really great managers since changing ownership over a year ago. What happened? They both just get moved on for no reason whatsoever. The new manager that came in is not a good person.

The next one comes to hours. As a student, I understand I won’t be on as many hours, but the limited hours I got were priceless. I would find that I was always one of the ones asked to leave early along with another driver. Certain drivers would never be asked to go early. I will leave people to try to work out what the reason behind this was.

On the whole, some staff are nice, however some are incredibly rude. I apologise to people on behalf of one driver, who once nearly hit my car, squared up to me telling me to shut up and always steals delivered off other drivers. He’s an incredibly greedy person unfortunately.

The food. Well no staff members who make food wear gloves. Their customer service is terrible.

As a delivery driver, I faced the front of peoples orders being wrong or late, and would always apologise for this. But please save yourself the time and find another store to order from. There is a dominoes within a 2 minute walk from this store, and I can guarantee you’ll be getting a much better package all round going from them.

It’s a shame. The staff ruin this store. From management all the way down to in store staff. Get rid of the best managers, limit my very few hours to gift more to others who didn’t need it, and always had to chase up pay. Do not order from the Papa Johns...

For starters, I decided to ignore all the reviews on here . Judging from the flyer I got through the door the place has only just opened and I guess has a few teething problems so what on earth happened to Caroline Flacks world of #bekind and perhaps the season of goodwill (which extends to staff at fast food places too!!!!)........it's a takeaway order and last time I looked we weren't living in a famine stricken country with a lack of food (in fact as a country we actually waste too much edible food and have far too many clinically obese occupants so maybe if some people DIDN'T get their take away order the place might be doing you a favour!!) The 1 star reviewers in this world really do need to get a grip of themselves......is a few hours wait on food or a mucked up order really important when some people in this world have no food at all???! What if you had to grow your own food and your harvest failed??

Anyway as a first time order here and a first timer at Papa Johns in fact I thought the food was fab and good value. The vegan options are excellant and 2 large pizzas and starters has filled up 3 non overweight adults to bursting to be honest. We chose to pick our order up on the way back from work and the tracker told us exactly when our order was ready for collection and the staff looked busy but were really very pleasant.

Thanks so much and to the lovely staff that I could see working so hard: 'No one ever built a statue of a criticiser'!!. .........let the 1 star reviewers make pizza at epic speed if they think they can!! I'm sure we'll be back for some...

It seems like there are a bunch of reviews here that state that people have not received their delivery. I ordered today at about 16:30 and the pizza arrived at 17:00 just fine and still hot. So it appears that this site had some problems with their launch, however at least today pizzas were being delivered and within a reasonable timescale.

However the quality is not fantastic, I ordered the All the Meats and a Chicken Club to share with the family, and the pizza was insanely greasy and just generally was a horrible experience, If it was my first time ordering from a Papa Johns chain, I would not order again.

Basically this seems like a new Papa Johns that has opened up but it's not running as well as it could be yet, I've had Papa johns in the past (from the nearby Ilkeston branch) which was much better than it is from here.

Give it a few months and hopefully the pizza is on par with Ilkeston's. If i order from here again in the near future I'll post an update.

In the mean time, the local Dominos has quality far better than this specific Papa Johns...
