The Bay Leaf Luxury Indian Restaurant — Restaurant in Amber Valley

We ordered from Bayleaf for the first time via Just Eat. And it will be the first and last time. We ordered for the earliest delivery time of 6pm, which was later moved to 6:20pm by the restaurant. By 6:40pm there still hadn't been a delivery, so we rang them. The guy who answered was incredibly unhelpful and stated "it might be 10 minutes". We waited and by 7:10pm had still not had a delivery. We contacted Just Eat, who rang the restaurant, only to be told our food would be delivered in 10 minutes maximum. The reason given for no delivery so far was that a second driver had taken our order, and had to bring it back to the restaurant for it to be delivered. This meaning our food had been out in a car, in the cold, for over 1 hour and 20 minutes at this point. After waiting more than the 10 minutes promised previously, we'd had enough. We rang Just Eat and asked for a refund, as we were not prepared to eat cold, and potentially harmful food, that still had not been delivered just under 2 hours after the delivery time. We will not be ordering from here ever again, and are disgusted with the lack of professionalism displayed by the staff...

We used to visit regularly but not for a while because the whole experience went off the end of a cliff. I am pleased to say the food has returned to its previous quality and I was very impressed with that. It still seems the takeaway service gets priority over sit-ins and the wait for the food is longer that it should be. The dropped stars are purely for the service. As well as waiting for the food, there was no service for drinks until prompted. There is no alcohol licence but we had bottles to open sitting on the table. Really dissatisfied with bayleaf we've used this takeaway a few times, the delivery times have always been long but we've always waited and never moaned but this is the second time they have forgotten part of the order. When I rang to inform them they said they would send it out but it would take half an hour which I questioned as the food we'd already received would be cold before we got the forgotten part of the order. The guy on the phone said the delivery driver was extremely busy. An hour later and still not recieved the rest of the order.
