We dined at a Praan as a couple for our anniversary meal. First, we enjoyed the poppadoms and fresh dips while we chose our meals from the menu; the lime pickle dip was bursting with flavour. Both of our main courses were delightful: a mushroom korma and a lamb podina. The service was excellent and Khan especially made sure our evening was really special. We will definitely be back to try more of the delicious dishes here. A visit to Praan restaurant in Belper is highly recommended.

This is the best Indian restaurant we have found, it really is worth travelling to. We have been three times so far and it has been consistently good, the main dishes are great then finishing off with amazing desserts and a pot of coffee with a jug of cream after the desserts which is how it should be but so many others aren't. To top it off it is reasonably priced and the setting which is underground really has a wow factor.

Excellent Indian restaurant with a really fantastic menu and great service. I had scallops for starter and a lamb dish for main. Both were sublime. Only wish I could have tried more food during in my visit. I would say this restaurant is worth travelling out of your way to eat at. Highly recommended!

Visited yesterday evening (New Years Eve), arrived and they had no knowledge of my booking despite offering to show them an email confirming this, however they were still able to accommodate us. Felt rushed to order as when I asked for more time to review the menu, the staff member replied back stating that they have large parties in house today and the longer we take to order, the longer we will have to wait for the food to come out. Another staff member was extremely rude to my daughter (who is 5 years old) as he pointed to her to get back to her seat whilst waiting for our food - she wasn't in the way of anyone and no other diners were around where she was playing. No one came to ask us how our food was during our visit, they forgot (and admitted they forgot) to bring our water to the table. When I asked for some containers to take some food back, I was told that he would have to send someone over as he was 'too busy'!!! I appreciate it was New Years Eve but they lacked any customer service. Has put me off...

Lamb Rogan Josh - lamb was very tough (couldn't even cut it) and the sauce was bland, it almost looked like like a ready meal.

Cheese & Garlic Nan - came with a pile of cheese on it which is a first, Nan bread was soggy due to the unmelted cheese.

Chips - were clearly reheated (like chewing cardboard)

Samosas - they were ok but very sweet which was weird, also a first.

We normally order from anila which is very nice, always consistent but since they're closed on Mondays, we thought we would give these a try.

Considering Anila and Praan are simarly priced, I was expecting the food quality from Praan to be up there but its no where near.

Won't be ordering from...

Following on from my original review about takeaway not being ready then getting home to find parts of the order missing probably due to them taking too much on and rushing. Then offering verbally to pay me a refund …. Which has never been received!!!! I can only surmise that they obviously need the money more than giving great customer service. Makes you wonder about Praans other ethics doesn’t it? I am sure they will have all the reasons not to have done the right thing?!. There is a saying in great customer service when something accidentally goes wrong and can be righted, called ‘ The moment of truth’ something they seemed to have...
