The Jolly Colliers — Restaurant in Amber Valley

I am a positive person and I only ever give constructive criticism. I have been today for Sunday roast and here are my thoughts. The staff are super friendly and welcoming. Pub looked clean, I did not use the toilets so cannot comment. The tables are brilliant to eat at. Real nice wooden table tops. The food was hot The meat was tender Plenty of choice of vegetables and potatoes. It was costly, I ordered 2 dinners, 1 J2O and 1 bag in box coke and I handed in £30.00 and got back £4.65 change. So it cost me £25.35. That seems expensive for 2 dinners and 2 drinks. Food served on 8" plates, don't know why because the meat is plated, so vegetables don't cost much, so what would you lose to serve on 10" plates Gravy was like water. No real taste as it was very thin. My review is not meant to be negative but although we enjoyed our visit, we wouldn't go back which is a shame as it is a lovely friendly local which may have been a Sunday...

Lovely polite friendly staff didn't get the chance to enjoy thier food menu yet as we turned up late so I be looking forward to thier carvery on a Sunday next time plus other meals on menu threw out the week they also do take away deliveries and i can't wait when they start having gigs ect at thus place I'm sure it be...

Was very welcoming.. i hadnt been in before. But id definatly go again..all foods are home made.. nice and clean... good company.. theres a carvery every day if wanted.. or a choice of other foods and sunday carvery.. 3 sizes.. small.. medium and large £9.95.. the dearest... cant fault it at all. A very enjoyable...
