Me and my Partner have been going to Broomhill for years before the years mentioned below it was great..but End of 2024 into 2025 it’s been getting a lot worse!! We’ve both decided today enough is enough and won’t be returning anymore What we ordered Mix Grill which is £18.99 + peppercorn sauce £2.55 Hunters chicken £11.59 Large coke & Brooklyn Brewery Pint £9.75
On my mix grill meal I ordered my steak medium Rare It was cold inside had no flavour i was chewing my Steak for ages that doesn't happen to me ever ordering medium rare ..the gammon Was crispy on the edges and cold to the core The chicken was also cold so basically all the meat On my mix grill was cold apart from the sausages I had to keep picking pieces of meat out of my mouth that were hard..also They forgot to put onion rings and mushrooms on My plate which they then brought out once I mentioned items were missing the peppercorn sauce was disgusting looked more like thick Gravy wasn’t even the right colour that peppercorn sauce should be… It’s the only pub I’ve been to that a mixed grill doesn’t Come out on a skillet to keep the food warm just a plate it’s not even a option
The other order Hunters chicken Food was Dry Hardly any BBQ sauce and the chicken had no taste so Basically the meal was dry and dull
Over £40 for 2 expensive meals out to be disappointed As mentioned above this is the last visit and a Bad review i didn’t bother the Staff/Servers With the inconvenience of telling them the meal quality was terrible..before they collected the plates and asked us we just got up and left as it’s not there fault..a review online is much easier than making it difficult for them...
Read moreI have a SEVERE PEA Allergy so this did not affect me but my wife got A BAKED BEAN in her Sunday Dinner GRAVY, the waitress said they use the same ladle so it probably dropped in,, when I said this to the "SNOTTY RUDE" dark haired girl behind the BAR she tried saying the waitress is WRONG, they have Bain Marie's next to each other with the Pea's, Bean's and Gravy in and it probably dropped in when passing over the top of the Gravy, so I said, then this COULD QUITE Easily happen to me with the PEA'S and that would put me in Hospital, she then tried back tracking and denied that she said the Pea's was also in a Bain Marie,(what difference does that make?)what if my wife had a BEAN Allergy?? I asked her if anyone in the PUB had been given Training on "CROSS CONTAMINATION" her reply was,, YES THANKS BUT WE ARE CLEARLY NOT GOING TO AGREE ON THINGS SO I WONT SAY NO MORE,,,WELL YOU WILL HAVE NO CHOICE BUT TO SAY SOMETHING IF YOU END UP KILLING SOMEONE AND GETTING SUED IN COURT, if you have any Allergies at all then I strongly suggest you give this PLACE and the RUDE, SNOTTY STAFF A WIDE BIRTH, especially if you want to LIVE, I honestly believe only one Person did the Health and Safety course and they just made copies of the Certificate for the...
Read moreThe refurb is amazing, it's so much lighter, fresher and more airy inside now. It also looks like they've gained quite a bit of space (so potentially more diners). Unfortunately, the food preparation needs a bit of work. One mayonnaise pot (dip for the garlic mushroom starter) was absolutely filthy on the outside, the onion rings were only half cooked and, of 2 rump steaks ordered - 1 medium-rare and the other medium-well - 1 was at least medium-well (but delivered as medium-rare) and the other thoroughly cremated! We decided not to complain / send the food back as they'd only re-opened 3 weeks ago and we recognise that sometimes it can take a little while for things to stabilise in a new environment. However, we have often chosen the Broomhill for large party meals in the past and, if things aren't a lot better on our next visit, we will probably look elsewhere before inviting groups of friends to eat there again. Disappointed but...
