Aqua Fish Bar — Restaurant in Barnsley

This is normally a really good chippy, with three young people serving. Tonight, three different people, older people. The service was disgusting with the two ladies serving really unprofessional. An old lady ordered too much by mistake and when she questioned what they gave her she was told "you ordered it, you're having it". Another guy came in and mentioned he'd been trying to phone his order through for an hour to be told "we're too busy to answer the phone, can't you see?". There was no interaction and the atmosphere inside, everyone could see how bad they were. They say to employ people of a good age, please keep the young ones! They're lovely, quick and happy. These were maungy, sarcastic...

Not bad but not the best the fish was very wet And also it had been frozen numerous times in its life from sea to chip shop which is no good for it Chips and the curry sauce can’t be faulted

And I’ve spent most of my life running a fishing trawler so kinda know what the score is with what it should look and taste like 5 out of 10

Good but could do better

And staff very polite so you get a extra point...

Used to be the best chippy in the area. Something has changed. Chips are not as nice and a LOT browner than they used to be and the sausages are not nice (apparently the supplier has changed them). We will be going elsewhere in future. Real shame. 2 stars given purely for how good it used to be. Hopefully the new owners will roll back...
