Cinnamon Spice — Restaurant in Barnsley

After previously giving this place a 5 star review after multiple good visits. Tonight I felt the need to amend my review.

Booked in advance and arrived on time, had to wait 25 mins for a table, after ordering at the waiting area we were taken upstairs where there was not one other person sat down, it was empty. Why the delay?

We eventually got our starters. Half hour later, because we were the only ones upstairs and forgotten about, they came with the mains. One of which had clearly been left waiting as was burnt and tough. Unusual for this establishment based on past experience.

After 10 years of using this place with no issues, I could have overlooked this. But when it came to the bill, they insisted almost threateningly on cash payment. Like my card payment was dirty.

Bitterly disappointed at the change in service and quality levels. Will not be returning any time soon unfortunately and as a place I have previously rated. Thats a big shame.

Not sure why the insistance on cash after the service with no mention before or during. Was suggested to pay staff. But something does not sit right or...

Just been here. Always liked it, but had a bad experience tonight. Ordered poppadoms, starters and mains. The starter came before I finished my poppadoms then, ready for a break, the main course turned up before I'd even finished my starter!! Too quick. We went for a 19:30 booking, waited 15 minutes for the table, and were home by 9. And we live 5 miles away, and had to drive. Poor. Cold called in for a meal was told wait couple of minutes service was absolutely brilliant thankyou we were told to relax and enjoy ourselves waiter then spent time with us explaining dishes and recommended our dishes and even came back to ensure we were happy and even said 1 rice and naan was enough to share FOOD WAS EXCELLENT and service highly recommend friendly we weren't rushed at all and had a very nice experience value for money as well thankyou...
