What a let down! We recently booked in for the supper club after visiting the farm. After spending a fantastic day on the farm and experiencing great service at all other aspects and superb service and quality of food at the other eateries on site we expected so much more. The service was very slow. We ordered drinks from one person, but they explained that someone else would take our food order. We found this a little strange and perhaps part of the reason the service was so slow. I ordered the Sirloin steak for main course which had a £5 supplement. When it arrived it looked great. Generous portion size and looked nicely seared on the outside. I'd ordered it "medium" but I was very disappointed as it was totally overdone and ruined in my opinion, compared to how I like my steak. I'm kicking myself now as I should have sent it back and got a new streak. My drinks waiter did offer this when he visited our table after 20 mins , but as I'd already waited over an hour for my food already and I didn't want to wait that long again, so I didn't take him up on the offer. I wanted to discuss my complaint with the main food waiter or Maitre'd, but they then avoided our table as they knew we weren't happy. I actually felt sorry for the drinks waiter (Callum) as seemed to be left to deal with us as soon it was apparent there was a problem. We did have the £5 supplement removed from our bill, but to be honest I don't think I should have paid at all for my meal as it was so poor. The sourdough bread that I had with my starter was also quite stale and this was the same for the flatbread which came with my wife's main course. Overall this was a very disappointing experience compared to the rest of the things at cannon hall farm. We were in the restaurant for nearly 2 hours and only had 2 courses. We were going to have dessert too, but as my main course was ruined by an overcooked steak and the service was painfully slow we decided to leave (once they eventually brought our bill). I'd definitely avoid this restaurant if I ever visited again which is a shame as the rest of the eateries on site are very good. A poor show from the White Bull on our visit.

On a day out to the farm we visited the White Bull for lunch, which was by far more favourable than eating in the restaurant at the soft play. Wasn't overly sure what to expect but was actually surprised on quality not meal. I had the farmer Robert burger with Yorkshire Blue cheese, and itvwas actually very nice. One of the group also had the beef stew in a Yorkshire pudding which equally looked quite nice! We were all satisfied with our meal. I did think that the kids meals at £5+ was a little expensive, it really was a kids portion and would have been nice if it had come with some sort of drink. Restaurant was clean and they were manging to tidy tables fairly quickly.

When today still a friendly and warm restaurant even with covid theirs plenty of room although I can't remember if the table was social distance like the other places have been to, but I didn't care about that, I got the catch of the day. It came with chips, mushy peas and tartar sauce it was delicious and is a definite will have again dishes. Price was reasonable to say it is a farm restaurant; we had three meals, two large dispensing drinks and a coffee came to about the £38 mark. The staff are friendly, which is always a bonus.

Last weekend we went to the White Bull for one of the Bistro nights. We'd been many times during the day when taking the grandchildren to the farm and had always had a lovely dining experience. I expected much of the Bistro night and was not disappointed. The staff on the night were friendly, attentive and informative. The room was well set out and it was a full house, so glad we'd booked a few weeks before. The menu had plenty of choice and had so many dishes on all three courses it was a nice dilemma to choose from. My starter, the asparagus with chorizo and ,"crispy duck eggp" was the nicest starter I've had in many a year. My partner went for squid. Both were well presented, well cooked and were generous portions. Mains were smoked cod with poached egg on a bed out spinach with a fish velout for me and seared lamb steaks on a bed of puy lentils with dauphanoise potatoes for my wife. Again both were superb. Deserts were a lovely sharp lemon tart with raspberry souffle and meringue for me and a cheese board for my wife. Again they were excellent. It was all washed down with a nice Malbec and some nice local real ale. Many thanks to all concerned for a lovely...

Went for a meal on Sunday. My daughter paid for her meal and my husband paid separately for our meal. We were served after half an hour. My daughter waited another 40 minutes to be served. Meanwhile people were sitting down around us waiting 20 minutes and getting their food. It's a ridiculous system, two kitchens. There is no numbering system so when you get given a card with a number on they all go on one pot so it's hit and miss as to when your number is pulled out of the box and your food cooked. The beef and onion sandwich me and my husband had was full of grissle. The chips were good. After waiting 1 hour and 10 minutes my daughter finally got her food after I had spoken to the manager. She had fish finger sandwich, there was hardly any fish, but loads of batter. She was disappointed to say the least. When this restaurant first opened it was good quality food. I was really disappointed and won't go there again. I would have expected some kind of recompense for the wait, perhaps a coffee but nothing.

Do not go at lunch time as the staff...
