I would give a zero. This McDonald's discriminated against me and my daughter. Both disabled. We have a assistant dog who wears I.d proof at all times. I am a regular in the pitsea branch and management know my dog as do staff. On Thursday 23rd December 2022 my daughter and I were in this McDonald's when a crew member, not Manager, called Mark who has seen me many times, approached me. 'Do you have that Chiwawaha?" "Yes I replied " showing my dog with her support badge on her and in full view. This man has seen me many time before. He processed to tell me to leave under some regulations act. I told him no. I was not leaving as he was not manager and my dog is wearing I.d. The Manager told me I could stay and Mark was in the wrong. This Mark then approached me again to explain. I was extremely upset and asked him to leave me alone. I spilt my drink due to being so upset. Today, as complaints were closed due to Christmas, I phoned to report the incident. No action was taken. My complaint not even mentioned just you have to have valid I'd on your dog. Which I do. I wrote back explaining again what happened and photos of my dogs I.d cards. This mcdonald's digriminates against disability. They made me cry and get extremely upset and frustrated. I am autistic as we as other physical disabilities and my daughter special needs and autistic. Would mcdonald's ask for a wheelchair to be left outside? Then why a service dog? Pitsea mcdonald's you should be ashamed of yourself especially for the lack of education towards disability. I am going to Basildon Echo tomorrow to report this McDonald's and Mark.
It is actually a shame as there are a few very nice and kind people who work at Pitsea branch Manager Val, Liz, Chloe, Ben, Lisa. Manager Vicki Your all good nice hard working...
Read moreThe classic Bas Vegas experience! Standing in the middle of the carriageway before entry was a group of local yobs with their marble eyed pupils, awaiting to hear the King of Yobs with his straight piped Vauxhall Corsa 1.2 SXI 'Limited Edition' Their gaze pierced my soul as I made my approach to the McDonald's runway, or should I say drive thru?
Relief. I made it in once piece. In I go, the same old experience; I relay my order, and slowly creep up to the kiosk. "Can I pay by card?" I ask. No response. The attendant slowly reaches out his card machine while glaring out the window emotionlessly.
BEEP
Card authorised.
"Move to the next window please"
I get handed my iceless coke, that doesn't even reach the indicated fill level
"Sir could you please park in Bay 4 and we'll bring your food to you"
I crept up my car to bay 4 while avoiding alloy wheel Armageddon from the viscous kerbs.
And now the wait begins.
One minute
Two minutes
Three minutes
Four minutes
Five minutes
And the wait goes on and on. I could have sworn I felt my eyebrow hair grow a fraction of an inch.
I look to my right. A red taxi reverses into bay 5. A rasta man is driving behind the wheel. I give him a big smile. He slowly inches his hand up and gives me an uncertain thumbs up. I look in the back.
And there I spot it. In the back of the cab, I couldn't take my eyes off. A toothless crackhead. Is 'it' the right word to use? Next to what looked to be another smackhead in the earlier stages, only missing a couple teeth. Now I'm starting to wonder, why am I in a McDonald's car park at 1am?
Knock knock
"Here you go sir"
And there it is, my Big Mac meal, now half cold, but still satisfying nonetheless. Ah this is what I came for. The great taste of Basildons...
Read moreSo, experience based over 2 nights. First night, ordered our usual stuff through the drive through around midnight and was told to pull up while the order was prepared. One other car in front and several that turned up after who all recieved their orders before we called for the attention of the food runner. Our order just seemed to be forgotten. Waited around 30 minutes.
The following night, went to the drive through again around midnight and waited a couple of minutes until another car pulled up to the next lane and recieved immediate service. Decided to drive round to the window to place my order and was met with what seemed to be a poorly trained girl. Explained that we had been waiting for our order to be taken whilst the next lane had no issues despite arriving several minutes after, to which she apologised. I asked if I could place my order at the window and was told no. Not quite sure why, it's the same terminal that's used to take the orders. Was told to drive back round to join the back of the queue, despite already queuing appropriately in the first place. I asked why she couldn't take the order and she said it was because management were here. Again, not quite sure what this meant?? Just abysmal service. Ended up driving off and going elsewhere. For such a simple service cycle, they still managed to get...
