Let's start with the food... we ordered starters to share... mixed gurkha starter -the sweet and sour sauce elevated this dish, all meat cooked on point. Lamb chops - amazing flavour however slightly overdone (not to the point worth raising ). Onion bhaji - phenomenal, nothing more to add...

Onto the mains..

I am a gluten for a phall but fancied more flavour than spice... didn't quite fancy a vindaloo but more a madras but with more spice, requested this and I must say delivered on point... Mrs ordered a lamb saag and the meat was so tender it fell apart.

I save special 5* rating for how good both the pickle tray and the garlic naan is compared to the delivery version.. again not a criticism, delivery will never taste as good!

Service - simply flawless from beginning to end

Atmosphere- absolutely suited, maybe a tad to 'close' in the current climate, however prior to covid I would be singing a different tune...

Absolutely the best Indian food in town and probably the best for a long way surrounding.

What an amazing find! We visited here last night (Saturday), and managed to get the last table as we hadn’t booked. From that moment on, the service was impeccable, with quick service for the drinks and papadums whilst we looked at the menu, and then attentiveness when we were ready to order. The food was quick to arrive even though the restaurant was full and there was a steady stream of collections, something many bigger restaurants would do well to learn by! Piping hot, beautifully tender, and well spiced without it just being a ton of chilli, and good portions at excellent prices too. The theme continued through the mains, with beautifully cooked and flavoured dishes and tender, hot, food served quickly once we were ready for it. The service continued to be impeccable, with the owner personally checking on us and then once we had finished eating having a bit of a chat with us. This is a gem! Disappointing experience trying this place for the first time. Took around 20 minutes to have our order actually taken even though restaurant was almost empty and others appeared to be finished, perhaps they focus more on take-out. The woman who did seemed totally uninterested, she was looking in the opposite direction as my wife was trying to speak to her. When the food arrived we had both been given the same dish. The manager(?) came over after a while and I told her but she seemed to ignore me and walk off. Food was bland anyway…

Very annoying as we were both looking forward to trying this long established restaurant but don’t think we’ll be returning...
