I would have given this a higher rating, it is a lovely little restaurant, the food is nice, if a little over priced' we were on our 3rd visit last night and all was going well until we got to dessert and we were served sour cream (complete with lumps) which we unknowingly poured all over our desserts, when we complained the response from the 'long term' waitress was "this is the cream we always serve and no other customers have complained" we were actually the first people to receive dessert being the first in to eat, she then went on to say "maybe next time don't order the cream" oops! You just nailed your own coffin I'm afraid, we would, up until that statement, have returned but unfortunately not now, she offered to only charge us half price of desserts, erm not good enough, the restaurants saving grace is the lovely lady manager who removed all 4 desserts and coffee from the bill, I would however recap the staffs customer service manner, she really let you down. Its been nice...

Absolutely just WOW!! I wasnt to sure such restaurant treasures were ever left! Reccomend by a friend my Husband and I booked for date night and from telephone booking to arriving it was personable and professional. Once greeted so warmly we were seated at a lovely table on the ground floor (I couldn't see a bad seat in the place..you know..the one you dread being seated at) The menu was special a good mix and not overwhelming (always concerns me a huge menu) this was perfect and we were spoilt for choice, the service was friendly knowledgable, discreet and yet perfectly timed! Our starters were absolutely delicious! Rich had the scallops and I the asparagus and for main we went for the fillet (all meat was free range) and cooked perfectly, we shared a homemade dessert. Yum! Yum! Yum!

I honestly couldn't find any fault with this outstanding little treasure. Crab cakes with a chilli dip, wonderful, belly pork, huge, perfectly cooked, and a Tiramisu to finish. My partner had the chicken liver and Black Truffle starter, again superb, belly pork and finished with lemon cheesecake. Add a beer and a bottle of pretty decent wine and the whole lot came to under £75! If I lived here this would be on my regular eats list, and it's worth travelling for. At the time of writing (September 2020) they had appropriate Covid-19 practice which made for a very safe, and very comfortable...
